Are you stating that you know that there is a dyno mode for the 991 and this stop sale might be related to it?
Or are you speculating that there might be a dyno mode?

The former. I know there is a dyno mode that unless enabled reduces the power output, I am speculating that this could be what the stop sale is about. Anyone that has successfully dyno'd a 991.1 will know about this...

So unless the emissions shop have a linked 4wd dyno (not a requirement) or has a PIWIS (which shops don't have), you will get fake reduced numbers

There are 2 options for good dyno on 981/991.

1. Dyno should have connected front and rear wheel.
With this option you get same speed by front and rear wheel and for car is mostly same like street condition.
So there will be no any faults from PSM CU which can reduce a power.

2. You use 2WD dyno and put the car in “Dyno Rolling Mode” with Porsche Piwis Tester.

By both option you need also a dyno with good air-flow cooling system.
If you don’t get enough air-flow, your intake temp. will go up and that will also reduce a power.

4wd dyne still needs the car to be in dyno mode to accurately perform and not cut the power.

With the exception of Mustang brand dynos I believe. To the best of my knowledge they are the only brand dyno that can link the two sets of rollers, thus the car thinks it is on the street with the front rollers moving in parallel with the rear.

We used to have a 4WD Dyno Dynamics and a 4WD Dynojet and neither could do that.

I attempted on a mustang 4WD dyno. My tech thought it also had to do with the ECU freaking out because GPS knew it wasn't moving. That's speculation and not fact. I just know we couldn't get it to work without going into the ECU and putting the car in dyno mode which was NOT intuitive at all.

Welp, this is certainly something. I have NOT read all 51 pages, but, considering I bought mine via private sell (from a fellow Member) and plan to sell it privately (someday), I'll just keep it as-is. I was dead-set on getting the SC option as well since I wasn't going for the "S" models. All I know is, even on track, Sport+ is a beast and kicked my *** so I went down to Sport and manual PDK and had a much more productive weekend. 345hp seems 'light' on even the base C2, as does 4.4sec 0-60 times.

If it's emissions related, I'm assuming any 'flash' would just pull down HP, so I'll kindly stay far away from that! But my car is on the PDF listed, have no contact at any dealership to see if mine would be on a VIN list, were I in the mind to trade it in w/ a dealer. Very weird!

I have been read up on the VW case from a few years ago. There might be some good news:

"If any fix Volkswagen proposes ends up hampering performance—be it increased fuel consumption or a loss of power—many TDI owners may very well ignore a recall. It’s a tricky legal situation, as neither the EPA nor the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration can force individual owners to update their cars. Several bills in Congress have proposed banning registration renewals for car owners who don’t complete recalls, but they’re a long way from becoming law."

Suncoast has (2) 2014 991 SC PDK available and TPA has one. May be that the VIN is not on the list.

Is there a way to get our hands on the VIN list, so we can all check our own cars?
Anybody here have connections to Porsche or a dealer to get the VIN list?
Assuming such a list actually exists.

We've been discussing this so called' list for some time now and I am surprised it hasn't surfaced as of yet as most owners are wondering...........'Am I on the 'list'?

I would bet ($1) that there is no such list. I believe that the dealers did receive a list of the affected cars that they had in inventory at the time the "Stop Sale" was issued and all the cars that fall within the parameters that have been posted here would have been on that list. Mavbe one day we will know for sure.

I'll be at my dealer Saturday, I'll ask a few people there about it and see what I can find out

I called Porsche a couple of weeks ago to inquire about the Stop Sale. I provide my VIN and was told the computer listed my vehicle as "Stop Sale-No". Admittedly the rep had not heard of the Stop Sale but was reading what the database was telling her.

My car is a 2016 C2S with SC.
