i know they would take mine in a trade.

Did you catch a VIN from this car you mentioned? What dealer?

WP0AB2A9XES123145 at Paul Miller in NJ

"Traded in on last day of Dec, claimed by that Sat and for some reason posted yesterday, picked up by the buyer today"

I've been following this for some time and this may have already been posted. I read through it and see no mention of "Sport Chrono" so I wonder why it appears the stop sale is only those vehicles. Obviously further speculation but it does seem unusual to me.

These two things may be totally unrelated.

Lawsuit seems to only mention the transmission

"5. New reporting reveals that Porsche deliberately modified the transmissions of test vehicles so that they emitted fewer pollutants during testing than the actual cars it sold to consumers would emit during normal use"

I am still trying to figure out what the combination of options they are focusing in on here that makes some cars part of the stop sale.

Nobody here knows specifically which cars are affected and it’s all speculation. If you’re a buyer a P dealer won’t sell it and if you own it then call a dealer and give them your VIN and ask them to check to see if’s on the list.
You will get lots of free “ expert” opinions here so you’re better off doing your own legwork.

I’m trying to figure out:
- how they found any Porsche sports cars with “transmissions” since all road-going Porsche sports cars use transaxles not transmissions.
- irrespective of accurate language, how can a transmission (or transaxle) emit anything other than heat or - if it’s leaking - lubricant?

It seems the obvious assumption is that the test vehicles must have used taller gears in the “transmission “ that resulted in lower rpm and therefore better mileage than what was delivered in production vehicles. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Maybe why magazines also all outperformed the claimed 0-60?

I was under the (apparently now mistaken) impression that law suits need to frame their arguments using accurate language rather than assumptions that opposing counsel would helpfully replace conjecture with fact and also correct technical errors in plaintiff’s argument?

If that’s not the case, then I’m going to see about suing California for allowing eternal combustion imoticons to emit radiation harmful to cats and perhaps The State’s counsel will help fill in what specific industries produce emissions harmful to cats.

Oh. Wait. I may have answered my own question: Because “California”

That would require “shorter” gears.

Right - EPA tests got the super tall MPG gears and magazines got shorter gears that are in production.

Exactly. And the plaintiffs got 911s with leaking transmissions filled with Unicorn farts which are known to cause cancer in Californian lab rats.

This might be related to the 991's hidden "dyno" mode, which unless enabled certainly reduces power (and likely pollutants) when the car is being tested on the rollers.
