Impressive! Now what can you do at 30 psi? The wheel standing 911 has set the bar rather high, we want (need) you to do us proud

I'm not going to go quite that fast I'm very certain. But I do plan on running 10's.

So far tonight I've ran two 11.73's back to back and a 11.80 with a soft launch and 15mph headwind. I'm waiting to see if the wind calms down now.

Tonight looked promising until the wind came.

I did have a little scare when my posi discs welded themselves together. A spool at the end of my runs. Made a horrible noise. Got it cooled downs and it was good.

My runs we're pretty consistent considering.

11.73@123
11.73@123
11.81@122.6
11.78@122
11.95@122.7

Gonna make some changes now.

Lol Bruce....

Sid, very consistant and at least you're constantly improving. I remember when I was a kid. The 911 3.3L turbo did the 1/4 in something like 13.3 seconds from memory. When I drove one of those back then I thought it was like hitting warp speed on the Millenium Falcon. Now some of our little cars are leaving this in the dust. Times and expectations do indeed change.

A few observations and a bit of learning along with a lot of pride and expectations for the future.

Finally got home and had a chance to go over my logs and timeslips. I stopped by Josh's house and we got to talking about a few things and I thought I'd share some that came to my mind.

First I did some calculations on the 11.78 run that had a horrible headwind and it would have been .15-.20 quicker and should have been over 125. It was the best 60' of the night at 1.77 vs the 11.73 passes that were 1.90 and 1.92 respctively. The 1/8 mile was .2 quicker at 7.43vs 7.67. The MPH was 98.5 vs 97.66. This pass should have been at slowest a 11.62 but probably would have been a 11.53ish. Very impressive...

I was absolutely without a doubt one of the fastest real street cars there. Period... I had all the Vettes, Camaro's,Mustangs, EVO's, etc beat.

The air really sucked and everyone was complaining about it. The Yellow Vette that is consistently running 122-123MPH could barely hit 120. This was before teh wind. I think he left when it started.

I was warned that I will need to install a roll bar very soon (They have been watching me). They even wrote it on my punch card..lol

I believe that in a couple weeks, when the air starts to come around, that I will run low 11's. I was very surprised at how it ran tonight. It was over 90 degrees all night.

I had everyone from 911 owners to Tuned Vettes coming up to me asking what I was doing with the car. They were all very nice and couldn't believe it was a factory porsche based 4 banger. They had raced a few and had never seen anything like it...

I could have bracket raced. The car ran within a tenth most of the night and I cut some really good lights. One was a .001

What I found most interesting is how consistent it was even though I ran the gammut on how the car launched. It used to be that if I bogged it would run 14's if I spun it'd run ?? And then you had the perfect run. Tonight I did all of the above and ran those numbers...pretty cool.

Anyway, Some thoughts the crossed my mind and some findings....A good night for learning...

Yep, any faster than an 11.5, and you need a 6 point. Go faster than 135mph, no matter what time you have..... parachute, full cage, etc. - For most everyone else, I know Sid knows this. There are a couple tracks around here that aren't NHRA certified that let you run as is. One is in Our little Lonestar track owned by Hennessy motorsports. The other is in Seguin, TX.

Bruce, yeah I'm not looking forward to having to deal with safety equipment again. I remember very clearly how much of a pain it was having to get my super gas liscence.

To be totally honest, I never expected to be even thinking about it. I thought this car would be lucky to crack the 11's up here. Now, I am still in dis belief. To "have to" install a roll bar was very far from my mind a year ago. .....how things change. I now realize I need to keep a more open mind. I am just at the beginning really... So many parts to install and changes to make. Where to call it good is now my question???
