Sorry man. Were the seats replaced as part of the build and/or any idea why they came out? You don't hear that happening on the 951 head very often...?

That sucks

Time to put a 16v head on, a custom cam and crank up the RPMS

Bummer for sure. Sorry to hear this man.

I wonder if somehow the coolant passage to the head got blocked?

Sorry to hear that.

Valve seats dropping suggest excessive heat.

Sid, do you think you have ever experienced boiling coolant?

Honestly, I havnt had any issues other than when my water pump failed. That was mid year last year. coolant temps have been actually very cool. The valve seat broke into a half circle, so I'm thinking it must have had a crack?

These are original seats to my knowledge.

I've even been running it at very low boost bc it's been so cold. I can't even think of one time I got on it yesterday.

Weird....

Very strange that two seats went at the same time especially since this is such a rare failure in our cars. I would say some event must have occurred at some point.

I haven't heard of this on a 944, but on 4.7 liter Jeeps it is pretty common to drop a valve seat. They do not take kindly to being overheated. The 944 might be the same way. Who knows.

Sid,

Let me know if I can help in any way. I have a bunch of spare stuff here that I would donate to the development cause.

It was only one seat. Sorry if I wasn't clear.

I should have most of what I need from the original build. I'll call you.

This is the stock can and valve springs. I have had a larger cam in the past, but it has ran at least 7 months since then.
