Hey Kelly, Originally built be SFR ( machining by Motor Werks ) 106mm JE pistons/rings, Chromolly dry sleeves, Pauter rods. There were a handful of these engines built around the same time, to my knowledge mine is the only one still running and I had plenty of teething problems, once sorted it has been great.
If I were starting a new build like you, I would be doing something like "Sid's" stroker setup he has working on and keep the bore around 104mm, follow his and "refresh" builds, some great cost effective alternative options I did not have 10 years ago.
hey David, would you mind telling me a little about your engine setup with the 106mm pistons? I have my motor apart and am about to sleeve/rebuild... I remember when you did yours years ago but cant recall much about how.
Thx,
kelly
Hey man can you tell me how you set up your MBC. I have a tial 38 and I think I have a LR MBC. I had it set up the way LR has it but I switch the lines at the wastegate like LR says and I can't build boost. Is that because I have the bleeder type MBC?
