I was reading some old posts about a condenser conversion for my 924S. Still available? Details?

ok. thanks for the reference, i will give them a call, for that much i think it would be a better idea to buy 3 super bearings from black & sea for $580 and find a shop willing to do the job. I do all the work myself on this car but I'm not prepared for this job one bit. thank you again for the reply.

V2 / Rainman - Thanks for getting back to me; sorry for the delayed response... Medical stuff took me out of the loop for a bit. All's well now.
I'll check with Tim and see if he can help me. 944Spec support on this project would be a plus. Appreciate your help. Thank you!

Hi V2 / Rainman - It's been a few years since I visited this forum, and not really sure where I left off... I may have checked in with you in the past on this matter.

I have an '87 944S, engine out and completely disassembled. (Chain tensioner-explosion-induced...) Block and lower end pieces are all in good shape. I'm looking for an L.A. or So. Cal mechanic to assemble the motor and maybe do some work to the make the car Spec 994S-worthy. Car was in pretty good shape when it went into storage. Would like to know if you're available for the engine build, and possibly more, or if you know of any one else/reputable shops in So Cal that might be able to help.

Hi V2Rocket, are you still looking for work? I'm seeking Porsche personnel at the moment. Both for sales and shop. Let me know if you are interested. We are located near Burbank.

Thanks for reply. Yep, I'll try to get clip back on there. Regarding "held in place on transmission end", if that's the case then why is it needed (the clip) to begin with. (just to be clear, I have an '86 944 A/T, and replacing my broken damper plate with a manual clutch setup from an '86 944)

Hey V2Rocket...I was just reading some posts on swapping out damper plate with a M/T clutch setup. Question: when doing do, is the little shaft circle clip needed any more ? If not, what would keep the drive shaft from walking back toward transmission ? Thanks much for your help. As you could guess, I am about to perform this swap but this circle clip was not mentioned in any of the discussions I read on the topic. thanks , Steve

There is something to be said for German engineering, and that something is usually #%@&%! when you find out how complicated and expensive it is to fix that engineering when it wears out or breaks.
