Cut up wife's yoga mat to serve as rear floor mat replacement backing. I also reinstalled one of the rear seats after having changed its colour from a camel-beige to navy blue. Hope to get the other one in tonight.

Two weeks ago: Timing Belt, Water Pump, Air Pump delete, Porktensioner. Set cams to +1, +1.

Added B2 kit to trans for 2-3 flare

Yesterday: Raised front of car from 119/123 (DS/PS) to 147/146 mm (out of 180). New tires were rubbing on each left turn. Car bottoming on curb cuts.

Today: Disassembled mirror aiming switch and cleaned with contact cleaner. Now mirrors will adjust.

Well, I needed to get a state I/E (smog check), now that the old girl is 30 years old I transferred over to vintage plates which means no more smog checks for me. I never had a problem with it passing but its one less thing to have to worry about it in the future, going to put my plates on tonight and go driving. With the regular plates I would never get out from under emissions checks for a long time.

Who else has done this and what other states is it ok to do this in.

Default Getting ready for the concours

I decided to enter the 91 GT in the Zone 1 concours next Sat May 18. Just buffed the hood and fenders with swirl remover and porter cable orbital buffer and it came out great. Cleaned up the engine bay and touched up the suspension which I had cleaned up last year when I got the GT.

If any NE 928 guys want to come, it is at the RedHook Brewery in Portsmouth, NH next Saturday. Figure the GT is very original and exceptional clean, could have a chance!

Will give it a last quick clean next Friday before the ride up.

Well, buttoned up the intake refresh on the '80, filled her with oil, pressurized and checked all the new fuel lines, cranked her without coil for a few to get some oil moving since she's been sitting for a while and then went for it...well...she almost started when suddenly no more crank

Ended up being the new Bosch starter I put in - solenoid issue...needless to say, gave the old one as a core and no one close by had a starter or a solenoid in stock, and the only other one I have needs a solenoid as well. Oh well, she's not going to start until next week some time when the replacement starter is here, but at least everything else seems fine

Got the old girl smog tested today, "passed" this is the last year, I'll have to do this. Next year she gets classic plates. Looks like it's supercharger time in the desert.

Played around with a seat of power seats that are extra. My stock seats are in pcs and in the middle of a recover when packed away for a move. I would like to drive blacky over to the new house but needed seats. The power seats were in the full upright position which was actually leaning forward considerably. With the trouble that I had maneuvering the car in the driveway I knew I needed to do something. I had a car charger, a set of alligator clips and a desire.

I first tested the front three motors which had no effect on the angle of the backrest. I finally discovered the plug which goes to the back motor (which was un accessible). I was able to control the pitch of the back by connecting power to plug and found the perfect driving position.
