Yes, thank you I read about that and was aware of the problem before with my other cars. I have a quick remedy...After spraying the filter (lightly) with oil, I blow out the excess with compressed air. I have been doing this since the K&N filters have come out and never had a problem. I think the problem is that people soak them with too much oil often using half to all of the can on one application (have seen it many times) and it ends up dripping (or blown from wind velocity) into the mass air..

I didn't do a freaking thing cause my radiator is still out being epoxied. Stray voltage caused electrolysis damage (all aluminum radiator) And yes I change my coolant every two years. Gonna have a ground welded on the radiator so I can ground it to the chassis. Also gonna replace the negative battery strap for good measure.
Oh and I rode my bike 46 miles in a 20 mph freaking headwind so I am tired.

Would be a fantastic data point.

The OEM filter is MASSIVE, and there is no gain in a K&N filter. Just..gained dirt.
Your super fancy aluminum block hates dirt way way more than your last iron block did. Just tryin to help, im not a K&N hater.

Treated the leather with some Meguire's leather conditioner, and the vinyl with their vinyl and rubber conditioner.
Fixed the hatch release to work reliably.
Programmed the new keyless entry system to do Comfort Close.
Tried to fix the glove compartment hook to stop it hanging up half-way open... we'll see on that one.

Well, enjoy the new dirt you're not filtering out anymore.

Used the Porken 32v Cam Timing Tool & Bump Stick on my 86.5, 5 speed because of some pinging at low RPM at WOT (even with 93 octane)... Took a bit of work to get all the stuff out of the way. Turns out both cams were approx 3 degrees advanced - NOT GOOD. Adjusted driver side to 0 and passenger side to 2 degrees retard. Took a couple of tries after adjustment, turn engine over, measure, adjust, etc.. When it was all said and done she ran like a raped ape all the way through to redline and NO pinging... Thanks Ken

-assembled 32v heads for my race engine.
-installed on motor, torqued.
-install water neck
-installed ported/wrapped exhaust manifolds.
-re-bolted motor mounts since engine's out of car
-cut & mounted -8an fuel line & mounted Aeromotive fuel filter up high, as to not lose fuel during filter changes.
-bent & ran new metric 6' brake line from master split to Front left Caliper, re-bled brakes.
Whew, that's enough for one day.

A few things achieved today:
1 - Dismantled intensive washer motor and got it going again.
2 - replaced switch for above so the wiring plug stays in (PO had broken the connection).
3 - Cleaned my mirror adjustment switch only to find the windows still would not move. Ended up wriggling the connections on the control module and now they adjust from the switch again.
4 - Received and marvelled at Hans new door speaker kit. Will need to instal soon.
5 - Chased up tyres I am importing for the rear after one got damaged and failed inspection and I could not get a replacement so had to get a pair.

Drove down to Glacier National Park Montanna as a pre ?Kansas run to check the GTS and my passport/visa status.
The US border did the normal question and answer, fingerprint and photograph but they let me in (and out) and the visa is good until Sept.
Car was flawless with many high speed runs to a total of 1200kms in 2 days.
All set for Witchita.

(Over the weekend, actually; didn't have time to post last night.)
Finally got around to installing the 928s R Us EIS. First, opened up the bin containing the parts (928sRus EIS, 928MS cross brace, 928sRus billet oil filler cap) I got back from the powder coater back on June 1. Everything came out just great! Phil Kozak at Industrial Coatings does great work! Perfect match to my intake, cam covers, etc. (not too surprising, since Phil found the exact same box of powder he used last time).
Prior to finishing the EIS installation, though, I remembered a couple of parts that had been sitting in the cabinet for quite some time: windshield washer filler neck and coolant overflow tank. Decided to finally tackle that first:
OK, despite having to get in the front right wheel well for the washer filler neck, that job wasn't too bad. The coolant overflow tank, however, was a rather nasty job (I seem to remember reading about that before ). Mostly, getting the hose off the bottom (and later, back on the new part) is not exactly trivial. I noticed that the seal on the level sender was worn, though, too, so I just replaced it with an O-ring (Larsen Supply 02-1484P, #60: 1 1/16 × 1 5/16 × 1/8) from a local hardware store.
Anyway... finally got things wrapped up; installed the cross brace before work this morning. Still have some questions about EIS fitment (really tight in a few places); I'll ask about that in the appropriate thread.
