Decided to postpone the AT transmission mounts and compound polish instead. Sadly, the old girl looks better from a distance. The act of polishing every single surface in detail was depressing. Kinda of like watching **** zoomed in too close.

Some things just look nicer from a distance.

I finally got off my azz and started to work on it.

First was the passenger seat as the manual gears had jammed and started to strip.
- Replaced gears and the passenger seat works.

Continued to remove both side trays, glove box, Both console sides, removed stereo and getting ready to remove console to tidy up wiring and install Paul's custom window switch's.
Installing the GPS and rear cam as well

Pulled clutch pack for inspection and comments requested in other threads.
Sounded like a rattle can and was stinky as a burnt diaper!

Alcantera on the top surfaces, leather on the face. And a pile of fiddly bits in the footwell.

This is going to make my seats look like crap!

Installed my "new" used PSD unit. Flushed and bled with "new" used check valve from 928 Intl. and a new brake hose from 928sRUs. I also have a "new" used slave but couldn't get one of the bolts to break loose so I hope my old one is not leaking When I do the TT refresh this summer I'll address the bolt issue. Also replaced transmission fluid with fresh Mobil 1 synth and new filter. Nothing in the pan but black/gray smear from clutch linings so I am pleased (considering the unknown past history.) The new PSD has also cleared my ABS fault from the bad Transverse Lock Solenoid. A long, but good day. Now to do some search as to why my hatch release motor cycles but wont release the hatch.

Drove her up the Merritt to watch the Giants Packers game at a buddies house in CT. And home again. Man it's cold. That cooler thermostat ain't the greatest helper to the heater.

Repaired and re-installed my air dam that was torn off at Third Coast...it was 60 deg. today so I made use of a pretty day in DFW.

Jarrod - nice try - looks clean (BTDT) but I don't think it will hold up - those parts have to flex - and when they do the JB Weld will likely crack off.

I think you will need some very thin spring steel JB Welded on each side - at least this is what worked for me finally after several tries via other methods

The original materials choice here just wasn't very good - over time these get more and more brittle - In the end I cut mine back to have a bigger spring steel section - worked like a charm - have fixed about 8 of these that way now...

BTW when I say spring steel - A spring from a ball point pen will work as will a slightly bigger spring section - nothing much bigger though...
