So what did you do to your 928 Today......

Finally have all the current fluid leaks taken care of. Last one was the oil pressure sending unit; had it replaced and all is well....except now the oil pressure guage on the dash is pegged all the way above "5" and doesn't come down to mid-guage at idle??? Could the shope have replace it with the wrong unit??

I cleaned the ground point under the hatch and vacuumed up many bits of decrepit foam backing while I was in there.
Then I tested voltages. Battery seems a bit low at 11.8 volts (45 degrees outside). With engine at idle speed, I get around 14.2 volts. The belt for alternator may need some tightening, I can easily deflect it with my thumb.
Finally, found out that the low profile ramps that work with my 911 won't work as is due to the spoiler. Looks like I'll have to cut some 2x12's.

i replaced the (broken) dome light in the GT in 2006, right after buying the car. I have maybe used it 3 times in the ensuing 5 years. Went to turn it on the other night, broke the thing, which shorted against the roof and blew the fuse for the gauge cluster. Sigh. Tried to superglue it back together today, we'll see.

Drove my 928 today as the roads were dry, although lots of salt on them. Thought I might just as well give it a run as snow was forecast tonight. It came right on time 4" and still snowing.....
25 miles to go to 120k miles.

I started to sew my leather pod cover together today using Jerry Feather's patterns. I still do not know how it is going to turn out but I am optimistic. Its gotta be better than a cracked original anyway and smell a lot better.

Thanks to Greg Brown and Travis at Precision Motorwerks. They're the best!
1. Rebuilt Torque Tube.
2. Installed Constantine flex plate clamp.
3. New Transmission Lines
4. New Heater Hose and Control Valve
5. Fixed A/C leaks and refilled with R134
6. Installed RMB
The PO had a rat living inside the car and it had eaten most anything that wasn't metal, so I spent half of today cleaning out the mess it left behind.
The car is much better now but I have a feeling I'm starting to get underwater on it.
I have to believe that's a common feeling around these parts?

Not always the case as the part may have failed 15 years sooner than I thought.
Another ref. Point: GP hood liner, replaced in '04 already show signs of failing the outer skin.

Drove the 84 Euro to Jadz 928's, where he adjusted the idle for me.
Saw the no-sunroof silver 78 Euro -- nice car!
Took another look at white 928 No.1, patiently waiting for its turn in the repair bay.

Drove it to O'Reilly's after charging the battery all night. Ordered a new alternator, should arrive on Monday. Learned how to install the 53B relay, and learned how to install a new fuel level sensor.
Then I smacked her on the *** and promised her she'd be back on the road soon.
Wrench, drive, smile, repeat.
