Drove it 200km on a very hot day and avoided multiple head on`s with crazy motor bike riders overtaking on double white lines.. had a swim, got back in, drove it back, again avoiding multiple head on`s with motorcyclists only to be stopped just of north of Copping where 2 Ambulances we`re attending to a ... motorcyclist that hit a car that was towing a boat... Ive never seen it as bad as that in over 30 years of going down to the Tasman Peninsula. There are some seriosuly over confident Motorcyclists out there, stay away from my beautiful 928...
Not surprising if this guy is anything like most motorcyclists in Tasmania....

When washing the shark last Friday night, a small crack/bubble in the paint on the front bumper cover turned into a huge mess when I hit it with the hose. A section about the size of a banana lost it's paint. I removed my front bumper cover on Saturday and removed all the paint. (whoever painted it last used the wrong paint and it was all removed easily with a razor blade). Sanded and resprayed by Saturday afternoon. Got it reassembled yesterday.
So what did I do for my 928 today? I drove to work and showed her off to all the poor saps driving regular cars....

Finished up the Constantine bearings,clamp, TC bearings, seal, trans pump seals,o rings, modulator,bowden cable, trans hoses, vacumn lines and test drove.
A big thank you for the great help from HB4 (Bill). He was out here every day for the entire job. We took it out for a test run and everything is working awesome.
The Super bearings and clamp are the real deal. Thank you 928 Int.(Tom) for finding me a very nice Bowden cable and 928 R Us for many items, trans mounts, rear hatch lock assembly upper and lower, cruise bowden cable, and the misc. goodies.
This forum made it a great experience, as we know it could be tough going without it.
My car is Fuging tight now!!
Oh yea, Bill Ball for the inspiration to tackle this job.

I have now owned my 1983 5-speed for 30 days. It had 58K (verified) when purchased off CraigsList. It now has 60+K. No PPI. I took the train from Richmond to Philadelphia at 4am and had the car in my driveway at 3pm. Since day one, I have:
Replaced the hood liner. Fixed a fuel pump leak, replaced the fuel and air filters, and replaced the air box straps. Replaced the gas filler boot and gas cap seal. Replaced the shift boot frame and shift boot. Replaced the two front seat covers and had them professionally installed. Fixed a leaking the sun roof and rear hatch. Replaced the transmission fluid with synthetic. I am sure there a quite a few details I am leaving out. Tires were aleady good and AC blows ice cold.
Today, I replaced the upper left control arm, passed a Virginia state inspection, and had the front end aligned. The car runs, drives, and looks great. I will likely soon change the timing belt and water pump and take a close look at the fuel hoses in the engine bay.
Purchased for $5,000 and now have about $7,500 in it. I am sure I'm already upside down, but I knew that from the start. But where else can you have a roadworthy super car for $7,500?
Anyway, that's my story and I am sticking to it.
