made a change to the sheet aluminum under the new 997/968 front splitter i'm doing.... i decided to begin by using a single sheet of aluminum and go a little heavier to 3/16". i have the option to go back later and build it into a lighter composite piece. anyway, for now it's a much better result. btw, i'm very pleased (understating) with how things are going and i'm getting close to being able to post the final results and photos.

thanks a lot Spencer.... it's gonna create a lot of downforce once the front bellypan is installed, (Van's house tomorrow ??) and that air entering into the lower center pressurizes. it will slow down the car quite a bit though, and my fuel mileage will suffer. and i'll probably need cut a sizable window in it for air to escape.

have you considered ducting a vent to the hood ala GT3? IIRC they suck air through the front, through the radiator and eject it out the hood for a little more downforce, might be wrong though.
3/16 will be overkill, i think 1/8 might be better for weight and cost purposes. you're not offroading at 190 hopefully...thats like rock-guard thickness.

Got a set of 800 lbs springs from Oddjob. The 8" version is a bit long and I had to cut the springs down. Took off about 1.25"s and then welded the flat portion back on so that the spring sits flat on the perch.

Burning Brakes
It was yesterday, but I picked it up from storage where it had been sitting since October. Now I just have to figure out how to fix and sell it, or just sell it outright and cut my losses.
