Mark, Benji, and you all,

i can't wait til i add the 993 hid headlamps to complete the update.... i have to leave town for a month, but i will be moving the project to the midwest and finish it there in the coming days.... i didn't want you to see the progress until the new front valence was prepped and painted (for full effect) but, at this point there's no puttin' the genie back in her bottle and i owe you all some pics........ these photos are from last tuesday when i was lining everything up. i hope at least a few of you will agree that my early enthusiasm was/is justified. keep in mind that i'm also building this up to be able to withstand 195 mph winds (hence the stong front bellypan, 3500 lb psi resin, etc)... the final body work will look a lot better.....

one thing about this plastic. it's way too strong for bumper repair. hard as soft metal once dry. try sanding it. yeah right.

bummer that i didn't have the hood closed all the way.

yes Van, i'll be there around 3:30 with the spare clutch assembly, and maybe we can get the car up on the lift to install the cradle/front bellypan.....

i was up all night putting down resin. and just got a few hours of sleep.... it's tricky. you have to have everything planned ahead cuz, despite keeping the resin on ice, there ain't much time. like, once mixing in the activator, even ice cold, and 55 degrees in the garage, i had like 7 or 8 minutes to lock the two sections into their final position... so i had to work fast.

i eliminated the hi-loks, as it turned out there's just no need for them (resin is really strong).... what i did instead was drill hundreds of small dimples around all the holes with the frist step of my unibit. not too much of a mess except that i'll need to grind out a few bumps. anyway, even without the cradle installed, i can probably go pretty fast.

but, don't know what i'm gonna do with all these hi-loks...
