Good stuff John, she's a beaut all right. Got a name for her yet?

You should take Helga when you go pick it up, a 6-figure $ car would provide an interesting contrast to a barely 4-figure $ car!

No name yet. I'll let the group work out the personality. Hopefully we will all have a good laugh. I suspect it will be more challenging than people think. This is not a performed car so gently does it is likely faster.

As for picking it up, Helga is still at Topline. I think She's ready to come home. Can't wait. Essentially she should feel like new to drive. Dave said she was good before the rear shocks were replaced. Now they're done she should be perfect. She's got a few road trips in her immediate future.

Yep. Dave summed it up when he said how comfortable and smooth the 964 was when unmolested. It drives like a taut GT missile.

Welcome aboard. I can't see how Pete can stay away now.

$200 each. I've texted the seller to say we'll take another look and likely buy it. I have the red on white banner ready to fit.

I'm in if there are still vacancies tho I seriously doubt it'll still be running by the time I get a chance to drive her.

Shall we run a sweepstake on how many laps she'll do before she blows up?

Sorry guys - hardly even been lurking this week. But if Paul's in then I'm definitely in!! I guess that buys us a brake fluid change then??

In terms of being able to run this thing with enough people getting a go that will be the challenge. At a normal Playday you get 6, maybe 7 sessions so I guess you could get 2 runs in a session by coming through pit lane. If "she" lasts til Taupo then I guess its all on as we have 2 groups - and that leaderboard will stand for a year.

Only thing to add....

I can't see this ending well!!!!

I make that 10 confirmed

ChrisM.
Dave.
Sam.
John.
Walter.
Matt.
Chris B.
Paul.
Jason.
Pete.

That gives us $600 on top of the purchase price to keen it on the road/track. If Steve and Dan throw in some mechanical aptitude that should stretch to fixing some minor mishaps.

I'm cautiously optimistic this car will last through the NITT. I'm also confident that we as a group can make it work. I'll do my best to get the car tomorrow, put a banner on it and give thoughts to what is urgent work. After that, first up best dressed to get it on the track. Maybe the Gymkhana? The next big RSG gathering is 19/7 which I can't make. If we can't get it parked at HD before then I think we get it to Chris M's place.

Owner just confirmed anytime before 11am tomorrow is good. I need a second set of eyes and a drive to the Shore (Takapuna) so I can drive it back. Who's available? BTW I think Phil deserves a complimentary run for the initial investigation on this.
