I was gonna give you **** about the heated bucket seats, but as I love the heated seats in my Audi and couldn't own a daily driver that didn't have this feature now, I shall remain silent.
If it was me ordering a new Porsche, I'd be focusing on what surplus spec crap you can remove to save weight at factory spec. I.e. sound pads. Thinner underseal etc. there were people who did this with 930's in the 80's and managed to save 100kgs with sunroof deletes. Fog light deletes, reducing the underseal, lightweight carpet, thinner glass etc. look at the RSR spec. You could build a macca special.

Hi Mate.
Alas theses days the only standard options you can remove are the rear badges! Even climate is not removable now unlike back with the 996.1 GT3 which was the last time I think you could de-spec air con.
This car will remain stock. No Macca special!
I love heated seats too. The M5 had them and for long journeys even in summer my back feels so much better after long journeys for them.
My only concession to my wife with the GT3 was it had to have heat (as you know she has a failed spinal fusion and bone graft). I was stuck with the stock seats until they turned the option on to have heated buckets a few weeks ago. You cant have Clubsport 003 spec unless you take buckets. The rest is history!
I think the buckets are about 25Kg total lighter than the standard seats. However the half cage, large FE, battery cut prep and 6 point harness come to around 25Kg so no weight savings. My only other options are PDLS lights (mandatory for RHD driven in LHD country for switch over), red belts, mats, window screen tint, upgraded sound system (no GPS thanks!) and leather/alacantera interior with silver stitch and auto wipers/dipping rear vision mirror (stupid how this isnt standard in 2013!). Its a very modestly optioned car. No PCCD (18K NZD!) or flash leather extras....

Matt - my experience with vinyl wrap on work cars is that as soon as you take a rock chip and they get a tear you see the original colour underneath (white). My second issue is that when they are removed you will almost certainly have some small paint damage from the blade used to cut the vinyl. It shouldnt happen but it does even for the best. I think they are more for show cars than go cars but a low cost credible alternative for altering the appearance of a car especially as materials improve and costs come down...

Must be a thursday thing, I've been in the Tron today too. Lived there for 12 yrs. Drove my first 911 there, a red 72T. Must have been about '88 and was for sale at $30k. Went for an Alfa Sprint QV at $25k instead. Which was the better long term bet then?

OK, I'll have a bite But where to start...?
- Previously owning a WRX: OK, it suddenly becomes clear why you want a blue Porsche with gold wheels!
- Going blind: I've heard that overindulging in a certain activity causes this?
- Sleeping nude: Too much information. Way way too much!
- Tron bashing: Please be nice. Otherwise I'll get one of my friends onto you. And his dogs.

Mike. You are the most eloquent person I know from the TRON....
Dave - they did a proper job on that GT3 then. Quite frankly on the engine and gearbox are worth salvaging. That's one less GT3....
