True and Herman's interior had dust from a window open for almost all of the 5,500km from Cape Reinga to Bluff. The Turbo 3.6 air con was last charged in 2005 and still works so I know it's possible for a 964 to have functioning air con, I'd just like something cheaper to fix on Herman.

Marks 993 should fail for having aftermarket coilovers and wheel spacers (if it has them). Take the car to VTNZ and see what it fails on and you will figure out how CCS is putting their ***** on the line.

CCS are shockers for not following the letter of the law (good for some of you guys though). Marks 993 should fail for having aftermarket coilovers and wheel spacers (if it has them). Take the car to VTNZ and see what it fails on and you will figure out how CCS is putting their ***** on the line.

My coilovers are Bilstein. Porsche 993RS used Bilstein coilovers. Ive been told by CCS that as long as the car is running the same set up offered on a series production car of the same model type and vintage then that is acceptable.
The subject has been revisited many times on here. Ive had the discussion in 2014 with my mechanic, WOF station (same), solicitor (global risk review) and insurer. Everyone seems happy.
I can understand why a fixed front bucket seat could be an issue for rear party egress in the case of an emergency evacuation, however if the seats have sliders and the occupant can enter without restriction Im sure my council would argue there is no difference than any series production couple with back seats and folding front seats.
Im not sure why they created LVVC in NZ since I left our lofty shores but it would appear to me it was an attempt to manage the boy racer brigade and some of the imports from Japan that are heavily modified. There are obviously plenty of specialised and race/competition car applications that require certification and sanctioning but beyond that I see arguments around items like brand name suspension replacement/upgrades and spacers as pure revenue generation - a whole new industry has popped up in the last 10 years as we see with the compliance shops and both myself, Chris and Graeme have been through this in detail and can attest first hand how prescriptive and flawed the process can be. Personally Id rather the many 100sK of tax money I paid in NZ whilst there to be spent on other things.

Oh yeah. And that's the other thing I hate about all the LVVC nonsense. Its not consistent!
Frankly if NZ had a TUV or JCC certification process then I would adhere to the prescription. But Im not sure why I should accept someone who doesnt know my vehicle any better than a Corolla telling me my steering assembly has after-market bushes and is thus in contempt of some BS bureaucratic system. Like the 1kmph speeding limit tolerance (which lasted 1 day) someone should take these guys to task on it. Car clubs have an onus to their members to take the local vehicle licensing authority to task for unreasonable practices. I was recently told by a car enthusiast and NZ solicitor of experience and good standing that most of the guidelines in these types of legislation are unable to be defended by the bodies governing them in a court of law because they have no solid grounds for compliance and standards management. Id love to try it out one day but Id rather not have the hassle of doing so!

For Christs sake someone take this piece of garage art off my hands as well. Thing takes up a fair bit of cubic meterage of my unit. Genuine 993RS wheel and N rated tyre with glass top and alloy pedestal to make coffee table. Given the price of 993RS wheels I would have thought it was worth much more than I will sell it for! Make me a sensible offer and its yours!!
