Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?

sounds about right that there are many more elements to get the correct setup including not just coilovers but also doing the monoballs, plates, drop links and sway bars. Be interesting to see what the middle ground between $500 springs and a 10k coilovers setup is. (If there is one) also interested to know what difference monoballs make, I'm thinking its another level of stiffness above and beyond, Bearing in mind the 90% road use of this car.

There is a definite shift in pricing with the newer cars coming out combined with the GFC http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used...-635376133.htm Alot of car for the money.

My advice would be to do it progressively if you want to keep it 90% a road car. It's easy to go too far with suspension changes. Replace any rubber bits that aren't recent (suspension bushes and engine mounts). The shocks (and probably the springs) will be shot unless they've been refreshed, you can replace them with a set of KW v1s for the same price as Bilstein B6 plus springs. Or even new OEM shocks and something like the M030 spring set. If that doesn't feel like enough, look at doing the ARBs. The H&Rs are significantly cheaper (less than half price) vs the RS bars. No need for camber plates, monoballs, etc.

And an 8 year old NZ new 997 C2S is less than a 20 year old manual 993 now....
I cant believe how resonable some of the NZ used car pricing is now compared to UK, NZ and even USA as the greenback strengthens...

Ditto that - I'd be saving your suspension money until you're in a shiny black manual C4 from our resident 'have I got a deal for you' Jason!
If you plan on keeping the tip for a while then stick with the basics and don't compromise its road manners. Stay away from monoballs and solid mounts etc.

BTW: Saw a 993 Targa this morning in our building. False alarm, it's a tipo.

FYI I've edited the 2nd Nov Playday at HD on the RSG site to reflect it is now a morning only - 8:30 to 12:30, 3 Groups with 5 sessions guaranteed. If Steve is OK we can do BBQ lunch after on the deck watching the bikes circulating. Have been able to reduce price to $170.
Still need some more takers for the 15 Oct twilight.
Plenty more events released (but not RSG dates) so if you're in need of a run with the Hondas or the Lambos there is loads of choice.
27th Jan at Puke is now a confirmed date and I'll post that up shortly.

Heigo update; Well, she's all in. Wasn't the easiest of jobs but the end result is good. It really is well made and fitted perfectly. The left and right hand threads on the ends of each tube allow plenty of adjustment then a good taught cage when tightened up. Got the seat back in and it all works. Bit disappointed in the marks the cage came with but I can see it getting bashed around with seat belt buckles and luggage. Now back to the door cards - that is a job I wish I never started.
