For most. I love the shiny new orange paint but it betrays the intent of the car which is a useable fast road / track rat. Got about 20 chips now and looking froward to the next 20.

Amen to the Elise, one of those is in my future (and a 308GTB)
Never driven one though but what could be bad?

Fraser too, I'd love to get one and retro it a bit, de fatten the tyres back to 185's on taller steel wheels, get some alloy guards and nose cone beaten up, couple of rows of rivets here and there, aero screens and a splash of well patina'd red leather. Bit of spray over stencilled numbers and call me Monty! Track fun there.

Check out the Caterham 160 for a modern take on a simple sports racer. IMO, the ultimate track day tool.

I've been bidding on this for a few months too, who knows what I'd do with it but looks like garage fun more than anything. Don't usually go for the Pommy stuff but obviously has a bit of a story behind it and all alloy body

Cool wee thing Dave. Got excited for a moment when seeing it had a mid mounted 997 engine.

Sadly no. Never been into pommy cars and this one although built in NZ is all Pom gear. Check out the rear end which is a mini subframe front end in its entirety. The track rods are rigid fixed to the subframe instead of a steering rack but still with the adjustment for toe. Hydralastic suspension and the shocks fitted in tandem.
I mainly like it for the quite stylish alloy body. Wouldn't know what to do with it but a flat four repower would kind of make it a little like a Pooper.

Not least looks pretty easy to tinker with. No idea of the history but any 60's NZ sports racer gets my attention.

I think there is a very well spec'd good looking and fast Fraser - 1 owner for sale at the mo. half what it would cost to build. Anyone keen let me know. Has all the good bits on it.

Just added this to my fave 'Ring vids too - Sabine Schmitz ripping up a VLN field in a GT3R. One word: RESPEKT!!!

Apparently a late change to slicks saw her start at the back of the first start group about 50 or 60 cars back, well behind her normal class but that is still some awesomely gifted and gutsy driving all in one lap!

And those watermarks make it real hard to tell just how sharp the pics are. Have to get some though, they're probably the best shots of the GT4 so far.

And I liked that line up of Porsches at Highlands too

The pics I have bought off similar photographers at the track have all been very high quality. It's worth supporting these guys otherwise they will stop coming.

Indeed, I've known Phil for over 30 years, well before he and Brent, another of our friends and current motorsport photographer, took up photography. Hence the plug

He does it for love (of bikes especially MX where his daughters race), but it'd be nice to cover the costs. I helped fund my way thru uni taking motorsport photos... you could charge a lot more for prints, in those days cos there was no such thing as downloads or digital photography, or the interweb for that matter.

I'm definitely buying some pics, just a case of finding the best - there's a lot to choose from

Maybe ask him how much for all pictures if your car at all events. I far preferred it when you could buy a disc if all hi re digital pictures of your car on the targa from ground sky for $129. These days you have to choose 3-4 pictures very carefully for that and I never can make up my mind and often never get around to finalising the order....:
