Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?

just curious - do they still have the 300sl on the turntable at entrance & Capone's bullett ridden v16(?) Caddy inside? Haven't been for a while (1986)? Also a heap of other interesting stuff - 1903 de Dion Bouton etc?
Supposed to be best private museum in southern hemisphere - & only really Schlumpf bro's in France to compare.
Best I've seen was MB in Stuttgart - way more historically comprehensive than P museum. BMW also worth a visit.

The extended track will be difficult to secure this year but we (RSG) are working on it. TQ wants to debut it in Oct/Nov with the V8 series I understand....I don't think we will see the extended track being offered very often as TQ wants to keep this a bit exclusive and it enables him to run double dates with two tracks simultaneously.
There is a GT members/prospective members walk the new track to see progress afternoon late on 30th I believe. It still has a bit of work to go then must cure.
Taupo is the go. Best track in NI by my reckoning, even with HD extension (still too many right hand corners), 3.3 km and only FIA 2 track in NZ. The new key stake holder Izard is going to be rolling out some more accessible use/price formats for that track in 2016 I believe so keep an eye out...

I think you are right about Taupo. Maybe we look to do 2 Taupo weekends next year, one in April-ish and the NITT in Sept?
Does anyone know anybody who has/is purchasing a HD membership?

I'm going to start using Taupo more myself on test days. It's a great track and Jo liked it down there (has friends etc). If we returned to NZ it would be high on the list of places we would live. NITat is almost two years away so too soon to plan. It needs to be a three event affair IMO, so Taupo x 2 or addition of Puke might work. The landscape could be quite different by then (RSG, Playdays etc)....

Rumour states only 30 or so memberships signed up so far. They are pumping it hard as I and others have been offered free twilight sessions in last few weeks...but I personally know no one who has joined.

We are currently doing what most of the Auckland Baby Boomers are doing i.e. Thinking where best to take Jafa housing $ to the regions and it's a big decision. Trundle has already selected Taupo, possibly due to his love of fly fishing. The track being close likely added to the choice. Maybe a RSG enclave in Kinloch (I think that's where he's going)

^^^ Province house prices are booming at the moment, you might have missed the boat this cycle and need to wait until around 2023-5 to max the delta??

Agree, this cycle is missed, but there's sure to be another opportunity in the next cycle. That's why we're doing the leg work now. There's a strong possibility that you will buy at the high end of the local market so poor liquidity potentially makes it difficult to unwind if you get it wrong.

The partnership with RECARO is as old as the company itself. Since 1949 Reutter produced the bodies for the Porsche 356. RECARO was formed in 1963, when Porsche started to make the 911 bodies in house. Reutter then changed its trading name to RECARO, created from a play on the words REutter and CAROsserie (vehicle body). The new company specialised in the manufacture of seats and seat components. The first RECARO sports seat was unveiled in 1965 and in motor racing circles RECARO quickly became an acclaimed brand.

Went look see during week and 1-1.5 buys you twice the house than in Auckland. Most stuff I saw was listed -5 to plus 10% on CV so manageable. Leaves another 1.5MM for a business or toys for equivalent digs. Didn't seem to bad to me. Taupo is still no where near the highs in the last boom...

With regards to Taupo I wouldn't be so sure. Talk to Tony Bowman as he's an investor down there in multiple properties and can tell you where it is and where it's been. 2006 prices were mad. 600m2 lot on Lake terrace directly over the road from the boat ramp and beach with huge views (600m up the road from the napier Taupo turn off) listed $450 vendor paid 680k last cycle etc....

5kplus gst pa signing fee (10k?) etc. no need on Taupo but I've been in touch with management and they have 2x mid week "testing days" per month annually for $125 a head per day and these are VERY lightly trafficked (sometimes no one shows up). That's cheap track time for locals...
