Thanks John. I had the tin done when i first bought it. Good hints re the hoses and FPR. I have a pad keeper already but every time i put my hand back there to do any work the incumbent pad just disintegrates. I read a thread in the 964 forum about the appbiz pads. Word is they are good quality. They do an OE replacement and a 'track' version which looks like dynamat. Personally i'd do without it all together but am not sure of the noise/heat downside Oh yeah!!!
FPR is more about thinking ahead. If/when the diaphragm goes, it stops regulating and even worse puts fuel back in the intake. Does horrible things to your air fuel mix. It also allows pressure to escape making hot starts harder. It is a $300 cost but saves a fair few hours. I will have to pull the intakes and throttle body out to get to FPR.

I don't even know what this is supposed to mean???
I liked Mr Black very much and even apart from the sentimentality of it being my first P car, I still think C4s are cracking cars especially for NZ roads and environmental conditions.
But I like the Turbo way more. Way, way more.
Confirmation bias John?

At $7500 more than a white 964 tipo that just sold on TM I'm not sure I can agree. $40k delta to bring it up to Pauls spec is well doable though it will always have twice the mileage. Didn't you pay $50k for a 993 wreak Gary ;-p

The question any owner needs to ask themselves is what do I replace it with once I have the $60k? A ropey old 964 that potentially needs another $10-15k to bring it up to scratch or?? Obviously a 997 is an option but they're a slightly different flavour of Pork and not to everyones taste. So the sale needs to be enticing enough to make the change.
Obviously not everyone sells to buy another Porsche but a lot do and Nathan alluded to that in his response and it was my sentiments too when I listed mine.

There's no getting away from the fact that the tide has lifted all Aircooled cars and 2013's $25,000 ropey 964 is today's $50,000 ropey 964. I'd like to think buyers will spend the $ to improve their cars at this level but as we all know the true cost of doing so is high so I expect the model's rep will continue to be tarnished as will the market price.

At risk of being ostracised for talking boats in this housing and finance thread...
Phil: I'm man alone this weekend and thinking about a slide out to Barrier on the weekend. You heading away?
