Ha-ha - Problem is I actually know something about 911's - and why I no longer subscribe to T911. I would be considered 'over qualified'!

I mostly agree. Being a Porsche nut who consistently over capitalizes on all his cars to get them the a performance and cosmetic condition that I like, it's nice to know the slow appreciation may give me some cents back in the dollars I spend.

Looking forward to see how it turns out.
You are talking about Jeff - he and I are working on sorting out my GT3, I agree he seems a good guy, he is looking to start importing motion type shocks too.

Yes that's the bloke. Had a good chat to him about my requirements. He seemed to have a good grasp and made some good suggestions. Not sure about his experience with the early cars but the basic principles are the same.

As I have found its not just about the difference between chassis also about the tracks we drive. I'm quite familiar with the US track scene from my involvement in the 991 GT3/RS board and their tracks are quite different in the majority to our European style tracks - well especially ion the west coast and in the south (Texas etc). Not only is the surface different but they are often devoid of elevation. I haven't used Jeff yet myself but Peter is most experienced on 964 cup chassis having set up slot of the winning cars back when they dominated.

The key with suspension set up is learning and understanding yourself the ratio shop between all the components and what they do so you can help the guy doing the geo understand where changes may need to be made. It's really important to understand what toe abs castor can do for/against you. Camber is mostly/simply about tyre longevity and heat management across the face.

Great to hear they do corner weight balancing. I may look at this for the GT3. CCS also do this since bringing on board Pierreli and Ryan and his team are gaining real world NZ track set up experience with a variety of chassis now they support the race series's at the track and set up slot of those cars so don't forget about them either.,,

Any idea what the charge for corner weighting?

John, an almost impossible task to get a photo that matches. The colour is quite weird and looks so different in different light, from purple to almost royal blue. Will this shot suffice?

Ps the tyre you choose to use at the track is a critical component of how you might have your car set up for the track.

Can anyone recommend a good quality 12v tire compressor for the track (SITT)? Been through 3-4 cheapie S on the stock so need one that can do lots of work between a group of us at the end of the track day....

It's a $35 banner so I wouldn't get too hopeful it will be an exact match, but I'll do my best.

Paul's right. Its mostly fashion. Only reason 964, SC etc are more popular today than yesterday isn't because they have just morphed into better cars. Its simply that fashion has changed. Yesterday no one "wanted" that car etc (swap with other item), today because they have heard they are what "they" should have, the now "want" that model. Its not a "need" classified item. Fashion is fickle....
