Just discovered Gary Stirling is no longer the HD track manager??

A bit gutted - he is a legend!

Long live Play Day?? (maybe not)

Glad I followed my gut and hedged on dates for next year as I think the future is about to be very different at HD??

Wow - that's out of the blue. Will have to find out from Tony what the future of Playday is - Gary is still part owner of that.

He's off the hook now, as London09 has put in a $49,000 bid.

I've just realised that my car expenses go up when I'm travelling as I hit the buy button far too often. Let's hope I don't get a rush of blood to the head at 8:30 your time!

Gutted to be missing out on the NITT, but the R, Herman's seats and my helmet going mean I'm there in spirit. Just make sure that someone posts pics

221's are on Chris's 18's. Moment of truth when I swap them over tonight and see if they will clear the struts so I can drive to Pirongia and pick up spacers... its only 13mm but size matters right?!

I understand Gary's still doing playday, just not the track manager any more at HD... which is a great shame.

He was an absolute legend when I wanted to get a bit of sneaky solo track time in March to propose to my fiancée on the start finish line. Hopefully he has other similar things open to him in the future.

I think you might find a lot of events relocating to Taupo or possibly puke over the next wee while, possibly permanently, possibly not.
Big things coming for Taupo track shortly....

Looks like he's off the hook

This has historically been my issue John. The strong USD has tempered my spending in 2015. I'm glad I got in the last large purchases such as the Aim DL with smartycam back in 2014. Nothing seems like a bargain compared to local pricing right now....I'm sure that will change as the pricing for local imported goods catches up with the FX.

Good luck with the 964 auction for those bidding. One interesting outcome of my exercise was to learn the intricacies of exporting a car to NZ. I can safely say that isn't currently particulArly viable and gas some very complex requirements for compliance at the Australian end. The future may be different but without much forecasted differential between the AUD & NZD it will need a specific buyer or a bump in Australian prices to make it worthwhile especially if anyone is looking at it from a business point of view....

Bring in NITT. MAy the weather gods play ball...

It sure hurts to effectively double any USD price or treble any GBP price to get the landed cost in NZD and I have cut my build scope accordingly e.g. spring plates and rear indicators can wait. I have plenty to fit/fix and play with at the moment. Like you I'm glad I got some of the bigger spends out when the $ was better e.g. the Specialist Components ECU would now cost $5,250 landed.

I like the Taupo track and could quite happily do 2-3 days a year down there.
