yea paul thought about the 2.8 too but have put too much into fettling the bloomin' car that I want to see how it goes and wont get another chance for a while with Targa coming up, then ice driving in Sweden early next year.

And besides I may be imagining things but I hear a louder drone in 5th in the 2.8 and been too busy to get it checked - could be imagining but maybe not.

A car in every segment is something that I agree with (as Dave said earlier) but man its hard to keep on top of everything if they are all used hard.

Agree. I see $$$ to spend. That could easily eat up another $15k.

I'm hoping so for Lola's sake as I spend another $25k getting her back in shape. She's had an interesting life in NZ and has taken some sort of small hit in the past as John, Dave and I discovered. All park of having real history.

I'm fixing her because of pure emotion. It's my dream classic car, we've travelled from Cape Reinga to Bluff with John's 964 and it's become part of my life.

It's only money and we are a long time dead. Oh, and I hope I don't sell her until it's too hard to get in and out of. Like late 70's perhaps.

Europacific visit at Pirongia today en route in convoy to Taupo.

John 964, Dave C3 with Pete, Paul 993, Doug in BB with a load of John's track wheels etc, some bits of Lola for Steve to sort, and pick up some more parts. Pete collects his 944 and we get to pore over Dave's build.

It's going to be a great day.

Weather is looking great for a road trip. Pirongia is the perfect half way point on the way to Taupo and it never gets old wandering around Steve's workshop. See you soon.

BMW today for me for the haul to Pirongia, too much junk. Pete and I plus junk squeezing into a 911 cabin with tightish race seats will probably bring on some personal space issues. Look out for me at the meeting point.

like this...

Weather look foul for Friday/Sat unfortunately. Im wearing R comps both cars so will be forced to take it easy or spectacularly end the Prestigio cover for all of us in one $$$ off! Actually I can imagine we may be preparing for the ABs game a little early in Fielding if it comes down as hard as it suggests....

I've got a bit of gear but happy to squeeze into a 911 cabin regardless...

Doug - what's with the new handle?

Looking at the hourly rainfall forecasts it looks more like just some steady drizzle so R-comps should still be OK. Mine are looking a bit suspect though so may just run the Sumis everywhere.

I was always frustrated that I did't think of a handle when signing up and requested RL to change it. Finally got them to get it done on resubscribing.
