Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?
Are you painting it unicorn blood red or something? Perhaps if you go camp outside the workshop it will happen faster... Or it will be like watching the toaster and you'll end up going postal.
C4S sold - in one day really, just waited till money and car changed hands to update TMe. Had two offers of depositing the money site unseen within hours of listing. Refused both and insisted they view. One did and drove it home this afternoon. A bunch of calls, and possibly 5 serious but just not quick enough. The guy that bought knew he had to take a punt and forget PPi and negotiation.
Possibly too cheap, although maybe just right?
Key factor seems to be reasonably rare and rarely on the market. Although it was on the car from the factory (and many would prefer standard) the turbo spoiler seems to have helped as more than one were after the turbo look for less money.
The future? First is to finally finish the four year (come 21 February) saga that is the repair on my Christchurch house. Long story short, pray never to be in a natural disaster and that your insurance company is less incompetent then mine.
Next up? Probably GT3. Yet to decide if it will have rego plates attached though.

I lived through the earthquakes. Repaired and sold my house in Christchurch so i understand where you are coming from. Overall a complete bureaucratic **** up. Congratulations on the sale on the 993 and good luck with your future pcar plans
Congrats Andrew. I think there is a lot of pent up demand for the 993 currently so your timing was excellent and the result very good. I have no doubt you could have got 90k for it but that may have meant protracted sake, PPI and a tonne of additional work and hassle for you. As it stands I think the result was good for you.
When the time comes and should you wish to consider a new GT3 drop me an email and I may be able to help. I'm so happy with mine, cost me roughly what a used 7.2 GT3 costs and has been a blast.
John. As for a 45k manual C2 in mint condition....if for example Daves silver car came back on the market today I would have to agree with Buba its a 100k car today. In fact any mind 993 manual with that low mileage in excellent condition would be 90k
Paul. I think the sub 50k manual NZ 993 was an abnormally and a thing of the past. Rough ones aside I think we are talking 60k plus now.
As for over priced cars, I agree they will sit.
Jamie's car is a good buy for anyone who doesn't mind a leftie. Doesn't bother me. I've driven it, it's varioram and it pulls strong. New paint, great looking wagon and nice exhaust upgrade. Id imagine the price would be very fair so I think it would be a great buy. Infact i suspect that because it's LHD the future market and appreciation opportunities for this car would be greater than for RHD once UK bubble pops.

Interesting GT3 market opinion from Chris Harris here published today.
https://grrc.goodwood.com/road/news/...911-gt3-values
In short Chris de-bunks the theory 996.1 GT3 is better than 996.2 (objectively). He confirms UK market is in bubble territory and recognises there may be a correction in the future. He is regretful of the fact that increasingly GT3/RS cars are becoming the domain of the collector rather than the driver/track enthusiast etc. He points to lack of manual in latest generation GT3 and RS as reasons for elevated earlier generation cars, however the possibility PAG may introduce a manual GT3/RS in teh future is a concern to those values (I am told there will be no manual unless a special short run ala "4.0L" type special is considered).
So where does the UK market put these cars compared to NZ?
Fairly similarly actually! Big differences exist between what dealers are asking and what private sellers are getting as evidenced on the Pistonheads threads if you care to trawl through them and read them as I have done. However on face value surveying the figures on the classifieds and blending these with real world sales it looks like:
997.1 GT3 = 55K-65K GBP (110-130K NZD)
997.1 GT3RS = 75K-90K GBP (150-180K NZD)
997.2 GT3 = 75K-85K GBP (135-170K NZD)
997.2 GT3RS = 115K-145K GBP (230-290K NZD)
997 GT3RS 4.0L 275-325K GBP (550-650K NZD)
991 GT3 = 125k-145K GBP used (new were 100K GBP + options in 2013)
http://www.pistonheads.com/classifie...&M=1048&Page=1
So it would seem our market is generally in line with UK on the 997 and newer GT3. The older Gt3 I believe we are just below UK average prices.
This would lend itself to supporting the recent 997.1 Gt3 price of 120K is fair territory.
As Chris says apart from a mid term correction the GT3 market looks like it could have some time to run. I personally believe the launch of the 991 GT3RS and the flood of positive accolades in the last few months will continue to temper the market from getting too out of hand, as these machines will be terrific and the main complaints have come from those who have yet to drive them, the ones that have seem to be moving into them freeing up older GT3 variants on the market. However, its hard to deny that over time any GT3 especially an RS model will be a good prudent investment and mostly if your pay grade means you can enjoy to use it as it was intended whilst it appreciates in price. If that then is the case GT3s will be no cheaper than they are today and unless you expect your personal net wealth to double in the next 5+ years may be worth taking the punt today or risk not being able to justify in the future?

Guys, I will post this on the RSG website when it allows access.
I'm prepared to underwrite and arrange Stu for driver training at the arrive and drive on 28/4 if I get prepaid subscriptions for five 15 minute sessions @$46 each (price assumes he can do at least 10 sessions on the day)
No refunds for no shows or weather. You can however on sell if you want.
I'm looking to make this happen, not make money. If he does more than 10, then the extra sums can go to RSG coffers.
