Going for a run up to Waipu/Langs Beach for brunch and beach tomorrow morning, let me know if you're keen to join in.

Hard to pick a favorite road. Love the drive into Milford Sound, but haven't done it in a Porsche. Favorite stretch in the 997 has been SH22 when there's no traffic, and really enjoy the Takaka Hill run but don't have it readily available to me.

Favourite? ...so many. Maybe Christrchurch - West Coast (Arthurs Pass) - Up SH6 through the Buller Gorge - Back to Christchurch via HW65 and the Lewis Pass on SH7

Or Queenstown - Haast via Crown Ranges

Or...

Hey Guys,

I've got a '90 C4; I am getting bored with the standard motor, looking at giving it a tickle up either Turbo, or a NA set up; would anyone have any recommendations on who I should speak to make this happen ? I'm not after anything to ridiculously stupid, just something with a bit more ooomph, and reliable.

also 964 owners, what sort of suspension are you folk running ? in the market for suspension to replace the saggy lowering springs the previous owner fitted, got RS Sway bars ready to go in, along with a few other Strut bars and such.

lastly; can anyone point me in the right direction to source new 964 taillights? mine are both cracked, and pink

TIA

Ants.

No dramas. White 356C was entirely original can on original factory paint with amazing patina. Bali Blue B was restored. From what I'm hearing they have reputation of being at least 30% overpriced to market. I saw 964 RSA elsewhere for 90k, 964 C4 for 23-27k and 1984 3.2s for 25-30k but prices have defiantly firmed up since I did same exercise 2 years ago....

Hi Ants,

The first stop for engine response is a Steve Wong chip. You could go a step further and install a new engine management system, which is what I'm doing. Bigger bucks yet would be a 3.8 conversion. A turbo might be slightly lower cost than that. I would do simple things first. Here is a curve of one ECU in my car vs my ECU with a Steve Wong chip - 20kW extra at the wheels

I'm running RUF Bilsteins (rebadged HD Bilsteins) and H&R Reds. I think it's great. Others have gone for more modern adjustable coil overs. I'm sure someone will chime in.

Design 911 is one source for lights http://www.design911.com/Porsche/964...-cmo107-ct334/ if you do the indicators you will likely have to do the centerpiece as well as the old and new are so different. Not cheap at all. How badly are your existing ones cracked? I have two spares I was going to put on Trademe. Average condition and may be as bad as what you have.

RE 964 lights: Generally cheaper to source parts from the USA, try FD Motorsport and price check against these guys:

Just been for my first drive at speed in Herman OMG. OMG. OMG The torque curve feels so fat. The idle coming to a rest is rock solid. No hiccups on idle transition. He seems to be running rich, based on the black exhaust pipe, so I need to get it to the dyno ASAP, but if this is the start of a probable performance increase this was worth every cent.

Lucky I retired the 993 from track duties and Macca is more interested in tracking the GT3 - sounds like we would have been under pressure............

No way. I'm consistently slower than you in BB, no matter the configuration.

This has effectively taken the 964 engine management up to 2014 standards which makes drivability that much better without compromising character.

The R will be my track car for the most part unless the 964 brigade start turning up more often.

Looking pretty exciting spec. Will be epic road car. Manual only 385 headline 400 actual nice torque curve under 1400 first RHD examples will make NZ early 2016. Price unknown at this time but expecting 100k usd. There will be a long wait list ROW initially. I think we will need to act in next few months to secure European delivery allocation. I'm very keen to purchase but would probably mean the 993 has no place to stay. Hard decision ahead. Graeme & Pete if you are serious around 150-160 landed optioned let me know as I will start doing some work on this while away.....
