It was fine at pace but required a fair effort in slow or sharp corners. I haven't driven a non power steer Porsche for ages so can't really comment. I figure in the 964 you're turning the rack plus shifting PSU fluid as well so would be harder than a straight rack in theory. The PS motor needs a rebuild.

^^ Turned out the power steering belt had lost a few teeth then ended up on a permanent seista. New belt and fluid and we're back in business

Nice one Doug. Unexpectedly cheap repair bills are great! Sadly had the opposite recently.

Good news is that I now have a working (electronic ram'd) spoiler again, and banshee free brake pads for summer. Bring on the holidays!!

Pretty good in terms of the claim is approved. But I don't think Steve would have started yet being so late in the year. Good news is all new panels, lights and a chance for while you are in there type stuff that was due to be done at some point.
Just starting to miss it a little as the weather gets nicer and I have some spare time from today onwards.

These are the photo's that Richard Opie took for Speedhunters but I believe they will be used in a local rag soon.

That's great Dave. I wasn't sure the damage was significant enough to warrant claiming (with the track excess and NBC etc) but I guess it all adds up pretty quickly. Hopefully you'll have it back later in summer...

Actually, just thumbing through the mags at the Supa and it is in NZ Autocar. Didn't really know where it was going to turn up.

Did you buy a copy? I'd like to see what they wrote.

This is an interesting one.

Bog spec (not a single option ticked) 2016 Cayman GT4 EX SOUTH AFRICA with 2500km for sale at Giltraps for 180,000 NZD.

Well priced. 10% cheaper than a new one was in NZ a few months ago. Im sure it wont last more than a few days given they have been scarce on the used market and the only other for sale is CC asking 225,000...

A great car for an RSGer?
