I agree!
lighting helps accenuate the curves, and some elevation can help the back look smaller. Took this one on the weekend.

Wow.....lots of pics to look at now!
Jinxed; Thanks for passing the info on to your 964 friend. I will be trying, this weekend, to confirm the numbers going on our next run on the 13th. It's always good to warn the cafe owner that theres a large group of people heading their way!
Obsessed; Nice photos of your car but i'm not sure what you mean by chubby..........looks fine to me! Or may be its just a little "water retention"?

Maybe it's just the flared wheel arches, I don't know, but some photos make it look like it has a fat butt! I never get that impression from looking at it in reality though.
Great tip J1nx3d, thanks! How was your track day? From the photo I saw it looked like you had the track to yourself!

there was only 21 of us for the whole day! it was great but very likely going to be very expensive in the long run because now maintenaince items have to compete with upgrades! The next track day is in August but im not sure if i can go yet.

Hi Nick, Erin and I had a really good time. Will email though some photos soon.

Yes, please post a few here as well!
Sounds great! I understand what you mean about maintenance and upgrades... I'm a bit nervous about doing a track day because I think the bug might bite me hard. I can just see a slippery slope of endless maintenance items... suspension upgrades... lightening the car... chipping... wondering if I can turbo my NA... selling my soul for another 50HP... depression... financial ruin... despair... etc. etc.
Seriously though, I've been meaning to ask you if you can recommend a place to get helmets and overalls to meet the safety requirements?

you can try and look at it how i do in that parts you upgrade- old rubber bushings, brake parts, etc, could use replacing anyway. Two birds with one stone!
minimum required are just cotton overalls like any workshop/ welding type, a good helmet you can pick up on trademe, but try a few on for size first, like some prefer open face and some closed, etc.
I've messaged the mod again to enable [img]. hopefully when he does, all these pics i've been posting will automatically convert.

Obsessed, don't be nervous about a track day. Just do it at your own pace.
The helment and overalls are another story, make sure you purchase ones that are Motorsport NZ approved in accordance with Safety Schedule A, Appendix 2, part 4,1 & 4.2

A supplier I have used is Chicane - http://www.chicane.co.nz/

Seriously, the most cost effective modifications you can make are to the top 2 inches of the driver. $ for $, some instruction from the likes of Racing Ray will have you lapping quicker than a new ecu chip or new sway bars.
As far as the '44 goes, use good engine oil and keep it topped up, some good brake fluid like Motul RBF600 and some good pads like Pagid Oranges and you'll have a good base for track days......but it is a slippery slope - been there.

Thanks for the tips J1nx3d and cbnz, I'm going to look into getting some overalls and a helmet. And then I'll have no excuses not to do a track day
George, thanks for the encouragement. Nice to talk to you briefly at Hampton Downs that day of the PCNZ event, and I always think your 968 looks stunning (even if you said mechanically it is starting to get a bit tired).
Yes, I know that by far the slowest thing about my 944 at the moment is what's between the seat and steering wheel. Until that's not the case, I think I should forget about upgrades and just stick to maintenance!
