There are 2 ways you can read those stat's - another way is to say that the stronger policing of speed worked as evidenced by the very few deaths associated with speeding, if it was open slather this year and everyone did 120, maybe there would be a dozen more fatalities on the list??
The issue on our roads is bad, lazy and inconsiderate drivers - sometimes a combination of all 3. But our standard of driving is generally woeful and I reckon that's the main issue. Every piece of legislation/policing is simply a lowest common denominator approach.

Pete - any chance of you swinging past and checking this one out for the RSG crew? Must be a sub $50K landed?
(and it's even the the right colour combo for you mate...........)

following the various posts regarding compliance and mods. suspension, seats etc.
whats the general view now on project cars built outside NZ, I am thinking the Autohaus Hamilton type complete job, but with many non factory parts and mods, engine, suspension, wheels, seats, half cage or at minimum harness bars, etc.
Could be getting harder and harder to comply? I know 18 months ago it took a long time to get compliance on my RS from Germany.

Maybe this is overly simplistic, but an alternative approach is to take a car already complied in NZ to Aussie for say a driving holiday (and it just happens to get modd'ed while over there), could you reimport it without getting a compliance??
The Carrera Down Under would be a classic case where old Pcars go to Aussie for a month or so and then come back?? Someone needs to talk to them about what they need to do to re-enter NZ? I highly doubt there is a re-compliance process?

Usually I hate driving slower than the speed limit. Travelling at 85-90kph for extended periods of time would normally be a guaranteed way of getting me ****ty......... However - maybe it's a sign of old age, but I had no issues travelling at these speed this year. The roads did feel safer. An extreme example of the need for stats to back any assumptions!

If this car was silver instead of black, I could be strongly tempted to toast the 993 in favour of this.
I don't have Warwick's grooming skills necessary to maintain it............

Graeme. I don't think anything has changed since you complied your RS replica. It's just interesting to dissect the LVVC legislation which has been in place a few years now to understand how many of bus might fall foul to literal and uneducated interpretation of the rules many of us didn't know existed...as for modified cars arriving I saw many of them ex Japan when my GT3 was being complied. Stuff like R35 GTR.
Paul. Pete is probably right of course but I see allure of the GT2. If it were me I'd buy this regardless of colour and have some fun for a year or two. I'm betting if you picked this up for under 100k you'd make a very healthy profit when you sell it (probably to a UK buyer).
