Don't see why not. I'm commuting in Herman now. Light weight flywheel and RS Clutch aren't the best for that but I manage. As long as I can stream Spotify to the stereo I'm happy.

Jake. My thoughts on your car would be 75-80K to move it along without big delay. Ron's is NZ new, has upgrades and is manual with IIRC lower mileage and CCS will take 90K for that car. Manual cars of teh same model will fetch more than tipo and PDK.

To get into 997.1 GT3 you will be looking at 115-125K. last two sold between 115-120k one was NZ new the other a UK car.

John, given the length of your commute youll not notice the heavy clutch in the GT3 too much. Its manageable if you can at least be travelling 20kmph. It is heavier than 964/993 clutch however IMO. I dont see any issues there.

Also although it may not be your cup of tea (heck you may not even fit in it!) dont forget the GT4 if playing in the 140K band as I think it may be possible to do Euro delivery of a brand new car, use it in Europe for a month and return home with it sell it and break even if you just want to have an adventure and tick some bucket list off. Costs you basically nothing, gives you great wheels for Alpine drives and Spa etc and you can have the experience of buying a new car from the factory. Maybe buy a GT3 now and consider that plan downstream if its of interest. Problem is when it comes to take the keys....

Walter, I got a seat belt re webbed due to fraying for reasonable cost by some certified seatbelt guys. It was a place in Penrose I think, called Seatbelt Solutions. I can only imagine that a Porsche belt with pre tensioners would be a staggering price.

Sellers remorse creeping in yet?
Real shame to sell it.
My favourite car of the gruppe.

I think you're right Macca. No plan to move it just yet, and will probably remove my upgrades before doing so as tip is less likely to attract people wanting AM suspension (although I'd highly recommend them). Expect I'll be looking to move it this time next year.

Technically it isn't sold yet, but yes remorse is setting in e.g. I had a weird reaction to receiving the build sheet and finally confirming the numbers. I'd never noticed the vin stamped into the metal above the spare wheel or bothered to check the engine and transmisson numbers. It's bringing out my inner train spotter.

Take away the recolour, some different panel shading and you have one damn fine original car.

PPI on Friday. I may yet escape the option as no one else has done a compression test (Dean said it's obviously making power so didn't see the need). If nothing else I'm building a fine picture of the car.

Need to get some go pro action. Are you around this weekend? You can drive while I film from another car.

I agree with the 930 comments in that article. Why hasnt the 930 fired? The original and iconic Turbo. It was a post car of my generation (including Countach and later Testarossa).

Possibly because the driving experience is so different from modern cars?

Guys, if we'd been smarter we could have formed a portfolio of interesting cars as they came on market, then stored, maintained and driven them as a closed group. That said, I think limited storage is a good thing with some of our tendencies.

I think so, the difference between a modern car and a 964 is manageable (can still be driven daily), the 930 may be a step too far for some. I may not be able to drive it quick but I love it, theres always the sense of occasion when in it. The 964 is the perfect modern classic I think. Im back in he market for another, sub 100k but still options. Not sure weather to add another 930, look at the 912. Or look for a 996GT3 or Turbo and sign up for targa tour. John, interesting choice to sell a great DD car in the Turbo then look at a GT3 for the same duties.

Wow, that's some enterprise. Maybe something a bit more modest.

My daily commute is relatively short - only around the Bays from Kohi to the CBD. No hills, few lights, polite traffic. Some days are more stop and start than others, but it's never difficult enough to warrant an auto. The Turbo wasn't a candidate for the track, at least not without spending some $. As Graeme said a while back, you can't outspend the factory research department so I'll happily buy one of their track oriented cars and put up with a bit of discomfort.

Is the 964 done with the track or will they both do limited track time in amongst the Hondas?
