Any Rennlisters from New Zealand?
If I was buying a muscle car at some point it would probably be one of these: https://trademe.co.nz/786125279

I sometimes thought of my old '79 928 as a german muscle car though, so it's all relative.
KiwiCarGuy - that Pantera in your pics looks out of this world!
Nice. Saw one in for servicing at Contis a few months back and it's in that minority of 70s cars that still look great today. Like the earlier AC Cobra, I've always thought of it more as a sports car though since its mid-engined (AC is front-mid) and can take corners without needing too much advance planning. With that big american lump in a relatively small 2-door I can see it making its case, but it might still be seen as a second cousin at a beach hop.

Checked via Google, we seem to have the longest thread on Rennlist with 'Any Rennlisters from New Zealand'. Some stats:
1st post: 5th Jan, 2006
10th page completed: 16th December 2009 (grew 10 pages in about four years)
110th page completed: 14th March 2013 (grew by another 100 pages in a bit over 3 years)
1110th page completed: 14th August 2014 (grew by 1000 pages in about 1.5 years)
Anyone noticing a pattern? If we're going to go supercritical, maybe we should get some public liability insurance for killing the internet:
11110th page in another 9 months from now?
111110th page in about (9+5) 14 months from now?
1111110th page in about (9+5+3) 17 months from now (past the million mark)?
11111110th page in about (9+5+3+2) 19 months from now?
111111110th page in about (9+5+3+2+1) 20 months from now?
and so on for 20.6, 21, 21.25, 21.4, 21.5, 21.56, 21.6 months etc.
Evidently, by Christmas 2016, all the world's storage will belong to us. The only responsible thing for world powers to do of course is to nuke us from orbit before it's too late...
BTW: if you're reading this while sitting in a bunker with far too much time on your hands and just the one button: just kidding mate - please put that finger back where it came from.

I wouldn't be rushing to sell off technology shares just yet...
I'm with you Paul. I miss my Boxster 986 which is the closest I've had to owning a 996. I'm sure their day will come too. Personally I don't like the tear drop headlights but the 996.2 headlights? like Chris' turbo are a lot more attractive. Believe it or not but the 996 shape is growing on me as time goes on too.
The engine issues are well known and the IMS sorted for $2k although by all accounts most that will blow do so early in their lives. Just don't buy a one lady owner one that's not been driven hard.
996 buying value sure is getting better all the time.
