Details but no names (and shouldn't be perhaps until wider family have been notified) here: http://www.odt.co.nz/news/dunedin/32...-trapped-crash

Also: http://www.3news.co.nz/sport/south-l...ers-2014102919

Father and son team in a '90s Civic, driver in hospital with serious leg injuries, co-driver relatively unscathed. Looks like they're from the lower North Island and ran a green 90's R32 GTR in the NI Targa earlier this year so will be known to some of us. Let's all hope for a full recovery.

Anyone still in the market for a 944S2 to build into a race car? This could be a good option: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used...-799385043.htm

Or has everyone defected to VTEC?

Mate. Wrong forum. You want the Porsche Rennlist forum LOL....seriously tho looks like a good option but if I were building from scratch I think Id pay the small premium for RHd so I could use it on the Targa too :-)

So I've started a restoration thread on RL due to enormous peer pressure. I thought I'd let it get a head of steam up first before letting on. It will keep me honest and on track. Still has a bit of catch up to do to get to real time, but great news on the leather, a couple of hides coming my way soon and the seats are on the home straight!

The Aston was a 2 door v12 convertible with rear seats just as useless as a 911. I am just on 6' tall but couldn't get the passenger seat back far enough to be comfortable. 2008ish model. Didn't note the model name though.

I recall Macca telling me some of the later Aston models would be a tight fit for me. There's a Bentley running as well, yes? I still have a hankering for a luxury car that can do miles in complete comfort and relative silence.

Good one Dave. Herman will have to lose some weight or he'll risk getting blown away by his Grandpa on Viagra

British cars built by Germans for Italian midget drivers. It doesnt make any bloody sense. I just love the newer V8 Vantage - beautiful shape and the recent V12 N spec car reads like a riot when reviewed by those I trust but I simply cant own one being 6'+. I tried sitting in the 2008 Vantage coupe when they released the drop head (Volante) and just got an eye full of head-liner. It was like looking out of Ned Kellys hat and that was with the seat down low. The sales guy just looked at me and moved on. Apart from the fact I couldnt afford a new Aston Im guessing he was wise enough to read my expression and realise no matter how much cow hide stroking I did it wasnt gonna work! Roll on 6 years and the in the GT3 (which must be a slow a roof line as the Vantage) I have 3-4" of headroom (2" with a helmet on). Go figure...

Great write up Dave. Im just savouring it right now catching up to page 5...

I remember being impressed with your fibreglassing skills and the thought that went into getting those sample leather stamps milled and the door panel candidate designs but seeing it all laid out in the one thread is something else. Looking forward to following progress with you Dave.

Yes, the Bently looks ridiculous in this environment IMO.

Thank you gents, I'm not really a thread starter sort of guy but this will keep me focussed and on track. And a great place for me to remember what I was going to do with this and that.

Subscribed as well. Really looking forward to following your progress in a consolidated thread. The work your putting into the interior is inspiring.
