Yes I suspect they meant to say use a 16GB or less thumb drive to copy the firmware to, and connect it via the ISUDAR board USB tether, but I cannot get to the ISUDAR interface via hitting the "info" button on the PCM. I'll post if there is any resolution from ISUDAR/Kimi.
Apologies if I missed it, but did you ever hear back from Kimi? I’m having the same problem (can’t get back to the ISUDAR menu by pressing INFO after the firmware upgrade ISUDAR sent me.)

I asked this question specifically, and their answer was clear, 6GB max see below.

Yep, they've been pretty responsive via WhatsApp...albeit late night/early am Eastern time. They have me trying a force upgrade with the 3 files in the screenshot (and holding down the OPTION button), but it's not doing anything at this point. After that, they gave me another 2 files for an MCU upgrade, but I haven't gotten there yet.

Wow, a lot going on there, perhaps the MCU files will repair/open the option to load the other files? What hardware version is your board and what were they trying to fix?
I really don't know what the logic is behind the steps they're asking me to take. I'm just trying to follow along and do what they're recommending. Here's pics of my current firmware/software/hardware and a screenshot from the first time I tried to update firmware. Current "About Version" Screen I got when trying to Update Screen during update. This lasted for maybe a minute before I was kicked out to factory PCM menu and I've never been able to get back into ISUDAR by pressing the INFO button.
Just an update, I thought my issue was fixed, and it partially was after the firmware update. The head unit in the car does appear to shut off (no display/sound as expected) when you open the car door after turning things off, but the board is somehow still active and won't disconnect from my phone for around 30 minutes. Any attempt to connect to my home wifi is immediately cancelled, and it reconnects to the temporary Android Auto wifi connection. This isn't a problem if I am moving very far away from the car (going outside somewhere) but at home, from anywhere in the house it can still unfortunately hang on to that connection. I cannot play any audio on my phone or use home wifi (just cellular) for 30 minutes. To sum up my issues:
won't "release" phone connection for 30 minutes after leaving/locking the car
factory backup camera won't trigger in reverse with either of the two options in settings (car is a manual transmission if that matters)
on the latest hardware, and the firmware installed from further up (which did solve the power visibly staying on issue)
I'm using wireless Android Auto mode
It's still really nice to have Android Auto, I'm not going to rip it out, but it would be really nice if these issues were resolved.
This thread has been very informative for those of us with the PCM 3.0 as well. There seems to be more similarities (as well as issues) across this ISUDAR CarPlay solution.
