There was already a thread started on this same topic and the mods moved it to "Other Marque discussions". It got 265 posts and 30,000 views in just a couple of days. People like it. I think it is awesome, it's going to do well and it will take sales away from Porsche. No doubt.
^^ pardon but are the last two cars you included purported to be the long awaited '960?'
seen several images of the aforementioned mystery supercar, thus; it's hard to keep up......
Silver is a 918, of course.
That green car you posted looks like a Panamera with Cayman *** grafted on....hideous
Wait. You mean those are not all new C8 Corvettes??
i have to admit. The advanced design of the LT1-2 has made me reconsider my thinking. Large displacement, smaller size, narrower width, less weight and no big bulky heads adding higher CG. Ultimate solution:
Dominate Harley KR 750 racer. Also dominated at road racing in the 60's and 70's. Most advanced flathead design in history.
Therefore Ford needs to ditch the Coyote-Aluminator-Flat Plane platform so can......
Update and developer this engine. Small in all dimensions. Check. NO big heavy heads. Check. Light weight, even more if the new ones are aluminum. Check. Potential for very high revs: lifter and valve ride directly on cam lobes. Check. Of course need to add some more valves, another exhaust port and probably good idea to have more than three main bearings. Small stuff.
The c8 resets that list. Now i have to justify why i am going to spend $150k on a 458 when i can get a more capable car for half the price, without the unwanted attention.
I think this disrupts this segment of the market.
Rob. They'll be plenty of attention in the C8....and yes the car is more capable but there's a lot out there is. Technology moves the chain....I believe its being talked about more because the change from C7 to 8 is drastic....and yes I agree it disrupts the segment but not the exotic segment....I don't even think it disrupts the Porsche GT segment....
I ordered my new C7 Z51 2LT 7 spd manual last Monday. I figure in a couple years I'll order a new C8 once the "beta" testing is done and the discounts kick in
I have to admit that I’m puzzled by the online praise for the C8 design as I’m usually in sync with the general consensus when it comes to opinions towards new sports car releases. This situation reminds me of ‘the dress’ where everyone was looking at the same image but seeing something completely different. When I look at the C8, I see a car that isn’t pretty (to put it mildly) and doesn’t look like a Corvette. It looks weird to my eyes - particularly the side vents which I struggle to understand how they were ever signed off.
My opinions are just that but I can’t help but wonder if people are being blinded by the sub-$60k starting price and giving the aesthetics a free pass. Attractiveness and value aren’t mutually exclusive traits - especially for a clean sheet design.

I depends on what you like. I love the look of the McLarens. The C8 looks more like a McLaren than a Corvette. I never liked the look of a Corvette anyway except for the '63 split window. The C8 looks awesome.
I bought into the hype and cheap price for the 6th and then again for the 7th generation vettes. I felt some weird sense of loyalty that I should at least try the American brand. Never again will I make that mistake. I kept them both for less than a month as I knew I would beat the bumpers off of them if I drove them like I drive my P cars. I loved the motors, and the massive torque, but the rest of the car just did not feel like it was going to hold up long term to weekly thrashings. Congrats to Chevrolet for taking this direction with the vette. I wonder how the Corvette faithful are feeling about the drastic change for the C8 ?
Maybe this will help the 458 prices come down just a bit futher so I can justify adding one to my stable. I keep lusting for a V8 powered car, but the vette is not for me.
They’ve been selling magazines with covers showing the “battle” of the 911 vs Corvette for decades. Here’s Motor Trend”s latest take a few years back (lots of praise for the Corvette as well with it beating the 911 in handling):
The current C7 is a really competent car and I’m sure the C8 will be even more so. I’m sure the C7 took some “value” sales away from the 911 and I’m sure the C8 will do so again... but that said mid engine or not they are completely different sport car paradigms with completely different formulas: scalpel vs sledgehammer analogy.
Cant wait for the first publication to match them up and go at it.... only good things can come from competition... so let’s hope for an excellent C8, which would make for some even better Porsche’s down the line!

Yes we know. Who wants to go dig that up? Also, how many visit the " Other marque section " ? You'll wait 10 hours to get a discussion going over there.
I think it was moved because a few complained : they won't admit it of course...typical. For some reason there's always a few who will somehow feel " threatened " by another marque that might work.
Yes,I do agree that if someone starts a Porsche GT discussion in a Corvette forum it might not do too well...but aren't we mature enough to go past that here?
