Thoughts on the new corvette?

LMAO at the title!
I've never even considered one, especially the last gen with the ugly a*s 4 pipes...like it was designed by a 10 year old. BUT,I'm seriously considering this one,at this price point nothing can beat it! I want one to daily drive it,I found out I feel I don't get full enjoyment out of cars unless I drive them every day.
I'm confident they will offer a manual transmission down the line, because otherwise no go...

Unless it had a manual AWD version so I can drive it year round, I won't be considering. So, not going to happen for me. Maybe when I retire I would consider a convertible as a fun car as the performance, cost, and looks combine for a really nice package, and an engine rebuild won't cost 30k when that rarely occurs. It's not a Porsche for sure, but it is probably going to embarrass plenty of and "special" cars.

I think it's a great performance value. The debut put it on top of it's segment in that context.
However, alot of unknowns, particularly track cooling/durability. Although, the Nurburgring testing is encouraging, and surely they don't want to repeat the c7 z06 issues.
Unknown is also the z51 package pricing, as well as the FE4 option with the MR dampers. If it tacks on 30k to the 60k base, then that value lead shrinks quite a bit, imho.
A few have mentioned, but in that mid-engined sports car segment, the C8 has the longest wheelbase presently. This does concern me alittle regarding it's driving characteristics. Likely, it's strong suit will be stability at speed and thusly perhaps alittle more GT car, than a nimble scalpel like a Cayman.

It’s a winner in its price segment.

The corvette will be very successful
And it will not hurt sales of the cars you mentioned. People buy a Ferrari, Lambo, Mac, etc not because of the performance or price. They want that manufacture. Not to sound like a brand ***** but I'm not cross shopping a vette or Ferrari....

The same reevaluation will occur for a lot of guys thinking about getting a 718, GT3, GT3RS, HELLCAT, M3/4/5, ZL1, etc. I am not saying sales will plummet in all these cars, but new math has been thrown into the mix and now it is blatantly in your face that a screaming deal is an alternative. I think this disrupts this segment of the market.

^^ pardon but are the last two cars you included purported to be the long awaited '960?'
seen several images of the aforementioned mystery supercar, thus; it's hard to keep up......
