Congratulations. Not a hard decision at all, was it?

The c8 seems like a win, but I just can't get myself to buy a dual clutch. I have rowed gears for my entire life, and want to continue doing so. There are rumors of the mid cycle z06 releasing a manual, and I will purchase one then. There will be a market for a fast manual transmission, and I would happily pay a premium for that option.
Love the C7 Z06. Manual of course. There is something satisfying about a mechanical linkage that IMO no cable shifter replicates.

I believe C8 manual is absolute no go. Though there is some talk about electronically actuated clutch.

But it really depends on the car. I am buying a 718 and after experiencing a PDK in this car, the manual, especially given the gearing, in my mind is an inferior choice and less fun actually.

No thank you.

Why? I takes more than looks and performance to impress me and that applies to any make and model. I look at the whole package.

I work on cars and I know if I worked on that Vette, I would be disappointed as I have been with any American car I have worked on. Cheap to the extreme, maybe not to you, but to me since I notice things others would not.

Anyway, nice carbon copy of the Acura NSX.

Have a 911 C4S, love it, but JD Powers' latest owner satisfaction just placed Genesis ahead of Lexus. Who would think? Got a Genesis R-Spec that is about 8 years ago, have to admit, besides normal maintenance, I have never had to go in for a repair then entire time except one time when the glove box lock was not working.
No charge and 5 years bumper to bumper and 10 years on the power train. With only 82,000 miles, have to admit, with 420 HP it's a big sleeper breaking 0-60 in 5 seconds and more interior room than a BMW 7-Series. Let the C8 get out, just this initial version and let's see how it rates, then let's see what Chevy has up their sleeve for the future. This is their base model, many more to come. Don't know if I will ever buy one, but the recent C7's I have driven, I was surprised, though I am a Porsche fan. Zoro hit 210 mph in the mid-sixties with a rear engine prototype, maybe Chevy could have been in versus Ferarri (vs Ford) if they gave him the green light he wanted back then. Let's don't get our underwear all bunched up, have some fun with them

Excited for future C8 as a potential track car, but as a bigger guy im concerned about how roomy the interior is. Recent C8 reviews said not too much interior room. I dont fit in a number of lower roofline cars (R8, etc.) even without a helmet. One great thing about the 911 platform we might tend to take for granted is the great headroom and interior space. Rare in a mid-engined performance car.

EXACTLY. 911 has not only the best (or only reasonable headroom) for us tall guys, but it has better headroom than most premium luxury sedans. That alone is engineering genius that other manufacturers can't touch Porsche on (low, sleek sports car that is more vertically comfy than a BMW SUV? Yeah I consider that genius) and puts the 911 in a league of its own. For me, with my height and torso length, there literally is no substitute. Not sure how the Vette will compare there but from what I'm hearing it won't touch the 911.

I had exactly the same concerns. I am 6'4" and I fit fine in the C5 (still have one), didn't like the C6, C7 was too small for me. I went to Corvettes @ Carlisle when the C8 came out and I fit with room to spare. Yes my 991 has much more room, and back "seats", but the C8 has plenty of cabin space for us big guys. Lack of manual is the only reason I haven't ordered one.

Does your 991 have a sunroof?

And the C8 had less headroom than it? Unfortunately for me that would likely render the C8 a no go even if I did want it. My 991 with sunroof fits me well but even a half an inch to an inch less headroom and I’ll be discomforted and paranoid about safety (head being too close to hard objects, etc.). I’m pretty much right at the limit. Of course if I had manual seats and no sunroof I’d have even more room which would be even more ideal. I’m about 6’4/6’5 but majority torso. I know guys who are over 6’6 who have better head clearance than I do.

I'd take one with a big rear wing...without one, the vette just looks...unfinished...not properly balanced to me. That little standard wing looks terrible imo.

More so, I would venture to guess other wider body/flared fender versions are forthcoming and they'll look that much better.

I could see driving one in the future but I'll wait.

Mine does have a sunroof. I am not sure if the C8 had more or less since the roof was off, but there seemed to be plenty of room once I adjusted the seat.

Here's the Street Speed 717 C8 with our prototype Sport Catalytic Converters and non-valved Performance Exhaust for your consideration:

Inside the shop I thought it sounded really good. REALLY GOOD.

But out on the road and in the open air.. not so much. Something about the tone was just not right.
The low frequency harmonic overtones are spiking at an odd time.. or something like that. It's weird.
I'd put a frequency analyzer on it and try and find a way to filter that stuff out thru phase cancellation or something.

I still have yet to see a C8 on the road here in SoCal. The Viper and I are ready..

A friend saw one at the car show back in January and said that from certain angles it reminded him of the Lotus Europa.
Cuz the back end never tappers off. The butt just keeps getting bigger.

Had a navy blue Lotus Europa in the seventies in college, windows didn't do down all the way for a reason (they way they were built). No air conditioning, and in Missouri summers that damn thing was an oven. Handling some of the best, but that what Lotus is known for, great handling, not a lot in the power departments or refinements. I know they put the Toyota 4 engine in the Elise and then later a 6 cylinder from I don't know where that scoots, got one down the street that they guy is always eying my 911.
