Since the chevy line is closed not sure all who bought a C8 new one got one/. I would have loved to snag one.
With the way Trump is getting on GM and Ford, you can bet your 2021's will have a built-in ventilator, for I foresee an overstock and price of about $90.00.

Default C8

I took delivery of a c8 2 weeks ago. I also have a 2018 Boxster gts. I like the Vette better, at least on the street. Tracks are all closed. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Boxster and am keeping it but I do like driving the C8 more. Never thought I would say that.

I don't find that surprising at all. No matter now fun, spirited, balanced and quick the GTS is, IMO it doesn't compare to the C8 Corvette performance/power envelope. The GTS is a refined, 6cyl luxury sports car. The C8 borders on V8 super car.

2018 Boxster is a 4 banger. Not surprised at all. Boxster is a great car, but C8 is in a different league IMHO even though the pricing is very similar.

Ha, yep...was thinking about my Boxster 981 S. My point is even more relevant, compared to a turbo 4 banger.

that turbo 4 banger is faster than the old 6 and I like the sound.

Here we go again. 718 vs 981. While the T4 may be a bit faster, the 981 is the better overall Porsche experience IMO (especially with a nice exhaust system/tune/etc). I drove both and bought a nicely upgraded, time capsule 4k mile 981S for a song. Such a better value and unlike the T4, the 981 sounds evil at WOT. The ONLY thing the 718 T4 has going for it IMO is the fact that you can tune considerably more power into it. The wife has plenty with the 981 though.

i used the 718 mainly as a track car. I have about 50 track days on it over the past 2 years. As far as performance it is superior to the 981, and I found it close to performance of the GT4. It has far more usable torque down low. On the track at WOT it really does sound good. The fact that it had 2 less cylinders means nothing. If you truly believe that I can say the 911 is a little girlie car compared to the Corvette.

LOL...as I said, while the 718 may be a bit faster in the right hands, that doesn't mean it's the better overall Porsche experience...especially for a street car! My wife doesn't track.

Years of roadracing taught me that although my liter bike was faster around the track, and besides the raw power advantage, it wasn't necessarily the most fun. A lower power, nicely prepped 600 or 750 was a uniquely satisfying experience (power characteristics, sound, etc).

Not sure about your strange last statement, as I believe my point was pretty clear. Like I said, while I still appreciate the T4, I passed on it. Although a more powerful car, nothing beats the Porsche NA flat 6 sound.

actually I agree about lower power being more fun. I had an ND Miata and that was by far the most fun car to drive on Virginia’s back roads. The Porsche’s and Vettes are far too powerful to drive safely and yet enjoy what they are capable of on public roads.

Yeah, I prefer higher power cars for the street myself though. My 996 was up there near 700'ish crank and the 991 is still on a different level. I have to keep my right foot in check. From zero to jail in about 9 seconds.

Switching gears, I'm intrigued and impressed by the C8. Watching videos of Henessey turbo charged versions already hitting the roads...I can see a wider bodied, mid-engine, turbo charged Corvette in the garage someday.

i have to say that the C8 has exceeded by expectations. It’s my first Corvette. The interior is nicer than my 718. No plastic. No rattles. Performance wise it competes with the 911s at half the price. I can only imagine how fast around a track the higher performance versions will be.

Nice, glad to hear you're enjoying it. Agree. It's likely the best (near super car performance) values on the market. Have you posted pics?

My first and only Vette was a very nicely built C5Z. It was only putting out 460 to the ground but was very fun! I can only imagine what the C8 is like in comparison.
