I must admit I'm pretty interested in the idea of the next Z06. I threw up a few renders for kicks and a video screenshot of a Z looking clay model. Both renders look great. Believe the Z will correct some of the base model aesthetics that appear a little off. Not sure how much the Z has been discussed in this thread, but my personal opinions of it are TT FPC, C8 race car rear vent, front fender vent/aero but not from race car, hopefully no big wing. Some are discussing big displacement 5.5l NA FPC but i think that'd rattle the car to pieces at such a large displacement considering what Ford ran into. I think TT smaller displacement FPC is the way to go. Video that's been out for a while now sure sounds a bit NA though. Anyways, fun to speculate and escape everything going on right now.
I came to Porsche 911's from Vette's. A Z06 where I spent (burnt) a boatload of cash trying to turn it into a significantly faster AND more refined car (including a pretty sick custom interior). What a waste that was but I digress...
No one is expecting a Corvette at 1/3 to 1/2 of the price to have the same fit and finish of a Porsche. The point is however, if they can let terribly (and CLEARLY) uneven dash stitching out of the factory like that, it's possibly indicative of greater QC issues. Totally unacceptable for ANY new car, let alone an $80k+, top of the line Corvette. I disagree with stitching and paint issues being related to "MY bugs". It's not like GM hasn't made a gazillion stitched dashes or is new to painting cars.
I was (and still am) rooting for Chevrolet with this new model but it's painful to see reports of this kind of crap (after all of the fanfare and wait). Let's hope these are very few, isolated complaints and the ongoing ownership experience receives mostly praise from owners.

mine is perfect _ so far. You only really hear about the bad ones. Honestly, it’s every bit as good as my Porsche.

Right on, really glad to hear that and yeah, I know you only hear about the bad ones. Like I said however, they shouldn't roll out with painfully obvious cosmetic or stitching issues. There is literally no excuse for that.

The worst story in the thread, however, is that of a 32-mile Corvette with a leaky transmission that’s setting a diagnostic trouble code for the limited-slip differential’s fluid pressure. What’s most curious about this particular example of the breed is that it’s been “driven conservatively,” not raced. Those are the words of the dealer technician who’s replacing the dual-clutch tranny.
Fingers firmly crossed Tremec can find the problem and get the Transmission issue resolved (without a full recall).
If it turns out the Automatic Fuel Management system (AFM) is the root cause (a likely suspect in the problems with the A8 transmission in the C7), it'll be a game changer for the C8 in many ways.
I sincerely hope for the best outcome for Tremec on this issue. We need more best-in-class dual clutch options in the world.
Saw one on the road for the first time the other day. Maybe it was just the color and way it was spec'd, but I thought it looked terrible from the side/rear quarter view. It was a red car with what looked like base/1LT package though, so maybe a better color with all of the carbon aero bits looks better.
Wow that is what I call "deviated stitching". Maybe GM was trying to copy Aston Martin or Bentley for that handwoven look. (They need to deviate it a little more).

Cool! I love it! Let the rationalizations begin. "Well, you know... the interior stitching is poor, ... and the DCT has leaks. Sheeshz! Glad I spent $140,000 on my 911 S (and who knows how much on my GT3) instead of buying a C8".
