Says 76.1” width is without mirrors. Is this how width is usually quoted on cars? I thought mirrors are parts of the body too.
Sure, proper tool for the job. Reason why I’ve never tested a Lambo for my backroads either. And I much prefer a 5 series or E class for highway cruising.

They totally shocked everyone with the $59K starting price. Rumors were all over the place on how expensive the new C8 would be.

The 991 is already wide enough. The C8 is about identical in width as a Panamera, which sits massive on the road. The wheelbase is also so long that I wonder if GM’s advertisement of you “being closer to the wheels therefore more connected to the car and how it rotates” will carry over to Porsche owners. 10” longer wheelbase than a 991/992 is an extreme difference. It’s not gonna feel like a scalpel / extension of you. Good thing they made that extremely driver oriented cabin as it will help make a big car feel like you’ve got it wrapped around you at least somewhat (the 992 interior which will undoubtedly be of higher quality, doesn’t feel like a sports car interior at all as it sadly went pure serene luxury vibe).
One of my favorite elements of the 911 is it feels like a toy when you’re pushing it, as in compact, succinct, like you can “palm” it. The 991/992 strayed slightly away from that (the Cayman/Boxsters feel like go karts in comparison) but they’re still dainty compared to the C8. The width difference is substantial. The length difference is considerable as well.
The high and boxy hipbone and rear make me believe the C8 will feel it’s size. And the way the wheels look so dwarfed (the huge wheel gap and fact that the wheels are so tucked in they don’t look to have a sports car offset at all, certainly don’t help) really signifies how much sheetmetal there is.
Then there’s the weight. Which will, as it sits on the road without driver, be a substantial 3,600+ lbs in STANDARD trim. About 500-600 more than a base and totally standard 991.1 Carrera.
The roar of the naturally aspirated V8 will be a big player in how much fun the car will manage to emotively be on canyon roads.

It's almost as if it was stated like that on purpose so journalists could plead "honest" plausable deniability when they parrot it in their articles. Porsche is not immune to these weight games either, as their cars too become heavier with ever new model.

For narrow roads the C8 won't be in it's ideal environment. Same thing that happens on the R8, Huracan, F458/F488, etc, wider and longer cars compared to a 911/Boxster
