It didn't look like he was going all that fast. N' that guy can drive freakin' fast.
You think Matt Farrah is a "freakin' fast" driver? No way. His line is typically garbage as he is trying to facetime. Hardly an ace driver.
Once Randy Pobst gets his hands on the wheel, we can discuss "fast". Let's also not pretend like this C8 in Z51 trim won't best the lap time of nearly every Porsche available...

Matt Farrah drives faster than me.. hows that? Even in a Viper.. driving barefoot.. he's faster than me.
Lets not pretend...? Excuse me!
Still to this day, the actual/factual performance of the C8 (in any trim) is UNKNOWN. Just a bunch specs on paper and one instance of a guy cruising around a track / "taking it easy".
This is the third video I've seen where the C8 is squealing the tires in surprising circumstances. Providing a strong suspicion that it has trouble putting the power down.
N' by the look on Matts face (compared to his other vids.. even the vid for the ZR1) I'd say all the hyped/over-the-top speculation is about to be hit with a serious dose of reality.
Just MHO.
Just another note in reference to the track video. The track is Thunderhill West, an extremely small course that is tight for even a miata. I have several hours of seat time there, and to debut a 500hp car on that track is a very odd choice. This may be why you get a sensation that it is slow/squealing easily.
We can all sit back and wait on actual performance. Its interesting to see how little faith some have, given the C5/C6/C7 accomplishments...
Several decades ago, I was at an Indy and his hourly rates were posted on a wall. The Indy base rate was $50/hour, $60/hour if you watched, $70/hour if you offered advice, and $100/hour if you helped.
If you want a peace of mind afterwards, you never want to watch a mechanic working on your car. Picture yourself in a lamaze situation, it is all giddy when things went well, but real ugly when they didn't.
I like the hardtop convertible design quite a bit. Not having a MT is a deal breaker for me though. Maybe they'll make an RS lightweight limited edition with a stick in a few years

stick never going to happen since not enough room for 3rd pedal due to suspension tunnel design, see pg 21 below

There are currently 2 on display in Newport, RI. Audrain Museum is having some sort of big deal auto thing all around the mansions, etc. $35.00 to get in that part of the event and you will need to stand in line if you want to sit in one. Even though my deposit was in a long time ago my dealer never told me about this event. I call yesterday and was informed that they did have some free passes, but none left.
