due to high production volume GM was able to secure the high cost capital investment for high pressure die casting tooling
thus no chance of porosity that lead to stress risers and subsequent crack propagation during elevated duty cycles

There are currently 2 on display in Newport, RI. Audrain Museum is having some sort of big deal auto thing all around the mansions, etc. $35.00 to get in that part of the event and you will need to stand in line if you want to sit in one. Even though my deposit was in a long time ago my dealer never told me about this event. I call yesterday and was informed that they did have some free passes, but none left.
The clean lines of the quite-small Aerovette concept car on display at the museum was a stark contrast to the C8...

R&T PCOTY preview video of the C8 at Thunderhill.
https://youtu.be/9kxcwgtaqAc
Seems to handle really well for the few laps that are on the video![thumbup](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/thumbup.gif)

You think Matt Farrah is a "freakin' fast" driver? No way. His line is typically garbage as he is trying to facetime. Hardly an ace driver.
Once Randy Pobst gets his hands on the wheel, we can discuss "fast". Let's also not pretend like this C8 in Z51 trim won't best the lap time of nearly every Porsche available...

In that case, perhaps I'd lose said forum bet that a 992 S will outperform a C8 on at least that track. Will be interesting. I'm most curious to see the Ring time, perhaps the C8 will put up a better showing.... still doubtful, but with 500 HP and no front engine hampering it now, it should very well render the 911 the underdog.

Go C8!!!

Agreed. When I buy a car I buy the motor. In this regard, the C8 is a clear winner...I don't give a rats *** if the 992 goes around a track 3 times faster. There's zero inspiration in a turbo 3.0L engine, zero! I would probably get a Tesla and complete the joke, before settling for non-GT 991 or 992...at double the price, no less.
Go C8!!!

C8 Corvette Stingray comes with a removable center roof panel, but a true convertible will eventually arrive.
Note: you remove the panel and stow it in the trunk. Yeah, no 'Magic Trick'.
