They are stronger
due to high production volume GM was able to secure the high cost capital investment for high pressure die casting tooling
thus no chance of porosity that lead to stress risers and subsequent crack propagation during elevated duty cycles

Great show! Mainly the parade cars... I've never seen so many driven vintage Bugattis in one place before.
The clean lines of the quite-small Aerovette concept car on display at the museum was a stark contrast to the C8...

Seems to handle really well for the few laps that are on the video
Really? I notice a lot of tire squeal at what seem to not be very high speed turns.

Once Randy Pobst gets his hands on the wheel, we can discuss "fast". Let's also not pretend like this C8 in Z51 trim won't best the lap time of nearly every Porsche available...
I'll bet forum points right now that 992 S with all the performance goodies will put up better lap times than a C8 Z51 with all its performance goodies.

Here, a 992 S edges out a C7 GS.

And don't neglect the faster time because of a DCT vs the auto in the video. The C8's mid-engine, extra HP, and the DCT will certainly produce a faster track time. Finally, a decently equipped 992S will easily push $140K whereas nicely equipped C8s will sticker for around $80K.

Agreed. When I buy a car I buy the motor. In this regard, the C8 is a clear winner...I don't give a rats *** if the 992 goes around a track 3 times faster. There's zero inspiration in a turbo 3.0L engine, zero! I would probably get a Tesla and complete the joke, before settling for non-GT 991 or 992...at double the price, no less.

Go C8!!!

Default The new American Targa...

C8 Corvette Stingray comes with a removable center roof panel, but a true convertible will eventually arrive.

Note: you remove the panel and stow it in the trunk. Yeah, no 'Magic Trick'.
