I'm always a bit puzzled by statements like this.

Would a person really choose a NA engine like the 996 M6 or even the Mezger over the 9A2, which has better metallurgical properties as well as redesigned water and oil pump systems? Not to mention that the 9A2 would be more efficient to drive and more cost efficient to service?

Sure, if one is comparing the 9A2 to the 9A2 Evo, then I can see the choice of NA (the 9A2 Evo) over the FI (the 9A2) based on the preference for NA over FI, but as an absolute statement?

It's a coping mechanism displayed only by 991.1 owners who need to replay the same statement in different wording over and over again. Bemo shops price, not engine. Ask him how much he got off MSRP.. If not for the discount he'd be driving something else that's turbo.

Say what you will about Fieros -- I've never driven one, don't know anything about them -- but you will seldom meet a more loyal, or more butthurt, group of car enthusiasts. Those guys are still murderously resentful towards GM for killing the Fiero just as they were on the verge of getting it right.

IF they'd made a Quad4 Fiero with a 5-speed with the later suspension upgrades, that woulda been a kick-*** 2500-lb. mid-engine sports car in 1988! If they'da also fixed that interior...

I respect your alternate point of view. There are many considerations one takes when buying a car, with various priorities in mind. Mine happen to be centered around induction noise and in that category and NA motor will always reign supreme.

As such the C8 is an incredible bargain and I celebrate its existence. That said neither of my cars will be getting traded towards it as I'm happy with the current stable.

Someone is jealous because they can't negotiate?
Drop me a PM, I'll school you free of charge!
Then maybe you can return the favor as I paid new M3 money for an old M3 from EAG...so much for being skilled when I was chasing a unicorn...naturally aspirated of course.

I will never buy a turbo car.

To stay on topic, go C8!!!
A pure V8 rumble plopped behind your ears for around $70-80k is a steal. Maybe I'll look for a used one in couple of years.

The same thread that ends because no owners could dispute that they accept the $40K over 5 year depreciation because...well that part was never justified other than to get on the next GT wait list with a slightly smaller ADM.

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that.

Did both your PDK/DCT fail simultaneously?

I'm always confused by useless statements like this trying to discredit someone's opinion.

By the way, what the hell does it matter what discount he got on a car purchase?

Correct! What anyone pays for a car should really only matters to the one laying out the cash. Value is a very personal and variable concept.

Dittos!

Right now I'm enjoying the best of both worlds in my two rock solid cars.
Not changing a damn thing for at least a couple of years.

In the meantime, will be eye-balling a Porsche GT something-or-other. GTS / GT4 / GT2RS / GT3

From a Corvette Forum post. Photo of GM internal specs on C8. Edit: looks like 2slow2speed beat me to it.
