Big doors, torsional mumbo jumbo, golf club caddy, too small for modern garages that are as big as interior living spaces, too "driver focused", all won't matter at the end of the day .....

Yet the C8 will be the best selling Corvette ever and will be car of the year ....

Yeah, who cares about the details. As long as the bosses at GM make money that's all that matters.

Spoken like a true car enthusiast.

I actually personally love the fact that the interior is so driver centric interior. Since I'm usually driving my sports car solo and for fun. I like that they made it unapologetically personal, for the driver, screw the passenger, lmao (I do wish they integrated the screen with more taste, talent and quality though).

At the same time, they compromise style, weight and size to be able to store 10 golf clubs. IMO it's mixed messages. Either it's unapologetically "for you and the road, and only you and the road" or it's a practical sports car with the footprint of an SUV so you can take your buddy to the golf course and have 2 bags each to choose from.

Actually it's the enthusiasts and buyers who will be happy. They're the ones shelling out the $$$ ....

The Corvette C8 is less wide than the C7 Z06.

And it weighs the same as a Porsche 992.

And a new style that everyone is talking about.

Weird.

Its (narrow) width is a major reason why my 996 GT3 outshines any RS on my backroads. Same for my 987 Boxster.

Yep, much bigger (heavier, wider, longer, longer wheelbase) than an already gargantuan 992. No bueno.

When I used to drive my Macan, even through backroads, I felt like there was an entire zip code next to me that wasn’t in use. So much width. Cars are getting stupidly wide. That’s another area my 911 feels like a breath of fresh air in: It feels wrapped around me much more so.

I also loathe the ill designed, tacky “taped on screen” look. Not to mention, it’s so 2012. We all knew it was an unnecessary fashion which would age terribly and look outdated rapidly back then, and now car manufactures acknowledged that failed fad by moving on from it. Yet GM props it in their brand new Vette. It’s an ill, haphazard design that looks like a cost cutting move. A truly well designed interior is all integrated.
In terms of width a C8 is is 3.2" wider than a 992: 72.9" vs 76.1".So even 911s are getting wide, possibly to accommodate the girth of their customers. My first 911, 1970 911E, was only 63" wide. With respect to design, everyone has their perspective. I've always loved the classical 911 design, but there are many who find it hideous. So it's impossible to design a car that everyone likes.

Although I'd say the 911 has deviated much further from their original plan over the years ...

WTF are you babbling on about?
Sounds like... NOT MUCH at all to be honest.
There's a boat load of stock V8 SRT's (and other cars) on the road that sound MUCH better.

Shill response #2592.

Also, was that a little wheel spin pulling out of the Home Depot parking lot?

That vlogger dude looked like he was about to cry.
Great shot of the Camaro rear end.

Still to this day, no independent 3rd party has driven the car and been allowed to provide comment.
That is PSYCHO at this particular juncture.

What rumble? Could barely hear it. I'm sure there's a clearer engine note inside the car.. like my stock Cayman.

Always good to be able to beat up someone else's ZR1 at the track
Talking about Ron Fellows & Spring Mountain..
The only news so far, after they received at least 4 C8's.. is that they put "slow tires" on the cars and are not in a position to comment.
Likely under agreement with GM.
???

This is the most bizarre roll out of a car ever.
Is this the smell of big problems? More delivery delays?

Oh it'll matter A LOT, especially to the wives and ladies. Just wait for the wives to learn it's C8ANs car too. C8ANs car + huge doors.. Game over, get that thing outta here!

If "Car of the Year" it'll be because the title was bought by GM. Seriously, how could a car that NOBODY has driven yet get COTY.
That would be a stain on the title. But IMHO, it has been bought in the past.

Yeah good to know about the impact of those ginormous doors on ingress & egress!

Having seen the C8 up close you realize just how big and wide the car is.

Its no wonder it has a frunk and trunk.

But even with that size the interior of the 991 911 still feels more spacious.

C8 is also 1.4" lower ...

The 992 also has back seats .... of course seems more spacious. DUH ..

The drama of the day has now moved to "size". Nobody is saying the C8 is a small sports car. Neither is the 992.

As a package deal with performance, looks, and PRICE $ it's a winner.

Value:
C8 $
992 $$$$$

The buyers will decide ....

Yep, without a half cage a 911 will feel spacious, after all it was designed as a 2+2 from the get-go
