Dug in on the interWebz, did a little (RESEARCH) and verified the C8 will IN FACT have the Automatic Fuel Management system (AFM).

Turns out its a buried in a line item on the C8 order form: “LT2- Engine Gas, 8 Cyl, 6.2L DI, AFM, VVT, HO, Alum,”

OMG! Those poor little dual clutches!
Until I learn otherwise, I don't think this is gonna be a good thing.

The only good news (I guess) is they've avoided the Gas Guzzler tax.

STG WTF?
Doing a little personal monetization?

Polls lie. Polls suck.
Number of Views? Who cares, it means absolutely nothing. Like it somehow equates to a seismic shift in the auto industry. That's laughable.
Do this - break down the demographics on all the poll respondents for us.. if you can. That'll be BS too.

Siting articles form last March??! Bogus!
Didn't matter then, doesn't matter now.

I think you're a little too late to cash in on the feeding frenzy. The marketing message out there (and in here) is obviously morphing away from the GM hype.

This marketing campaign on the interwebz (by GM) has been unprecedented. Interesting they're targeting/using the Auto Forums to get to the users.
Speaks more about the importance of the Forums as an access vector, than anything about a particular car.

No, I'm not a professional blogger. LOL.

It's very simple. Only thing that will matter is how many cars sell for any company. Buyers have the final vote.

I think the press is genuinely interested in the C8 as are "car guys". They made a big splash so far. I just find it interesting what you get at that price point. Blows the 718 and Carrera (base and S) models out of the water when factoring in the value equation. Comparing the C8 to GT cars and the F cars of the world is only a compliment to it.

The 992 was a disappointment to many and didn't get anyone's blood flowing.

Can you name which model each is??

Talk about creativity and "corporate look" as has been thrown around here. LOL.

The halo 911 has morphed into a soccer mom/kid hauler and Porsche following the BMW playbook.

Word of mouth should keep the C8 on backorder for months. The 992? Not so much. The C8 is so fresh (and affordable) I think nearly every car enthusiast will consider having one if for no other reason just to have a pseudo Ferrari they can put miles on without worrying about 6 figure depreciation. I looked at some of the 992 photos posted above and it already looks tired like a girlfriend who just had her lips done. Porsche has politely showed its new offerings, I'm going to politely pass as now there most certainly is a substitute, and a damn good one.

Spot on. Questionable Trannie on either 992 or C8 as well. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

They're repeating Audi's mistake in having them all share styling ques, where instead they should be distinct and appropriate designs by themselves.
Which is similar to what GM did with Camaro and Vette rears.

Press reviews should always be taken with a gran of salt. I hope GM comes out wth a killer Corvette, but the devil is on the details. On paper and spec, with the mid-engine it is getting rave reviews so far. However, a car s more than just numbers on paper. Seems to me so far the GM engineers got it right, but the interior cockpit design is a half-*** / half-baked "work-in-progress". They should hire some Italian designers to put an exclamation mark to give it a soul that is purely Corvette. Right now with that cockpit it just doesn't cut it.

With all the settings available, I would hope that there is a way to force the engine to be in 8 cylinder mode all the time instead of switching back and forth between 8 and 4 which seems to cause problems with both the motor internals and the A8 transmission on the AT C7. Read that the V4 mode is the one that caused problems due to an unbalanced engine that transmits part of the vibration via the driveshaft to the transmission.

Maybe it could be set as one of the parameters in Z-mode (personalized mode). And keep it there so that AFM is disabled on startup of the engine every single time .

This guy is apparently 6'4 and 285lbs... Looks to have more head room then the C7. This Rapid Blue is beautiful.

Wait . . . I kind of liked Mrs TRs new Cayenne with the 911 rear look.

It makes 911 guys cringe . .
