My CD had the recall inspection on Thursday July 20th. Today July 24th the funds were in my bank account. Pretty painless.

Yes. I am sure, if required, the engineers can find a way to add an extra tank somewhere, kind of like the old cars in which you twist a valve to get to the emergency fuel tank. It would be a cool feature that we can show to others (and here if I switch this ****, more refined pee is injected)

My experience and what I've seen reported by others is that you get about 12k out of the 5 gallons.

Non crazy people like myself tend to get their AdBlue topped off at their OCI.

Given those two things, the Audi and VW owners might get a bit upset with an increased usage if there isn't a larger tank added since they have a 10k OCI, but unless they do something crazy like 1g = 1k then we really wouldn't notice with our 5k interval.

While the others might complain about "unscheduled" AdBlue refills, us Porsche owners have a complaint against a larger tank as it will impact the weight distribution. Such a change (depending on how much extra fluid we are talking about) could have a measurable effect on how the vehicle handles. And why buy a Porsche if you don't care about how it handles?

Since this is a five passenger vehicle, I don't think anyone would notice the difference if they add a larger tank in the rear. Wait, since the engine is up front, this could get us closer to 50/50 balance!!

it also looks like just a bigger adblue tank and spraying more of it could be the cure. article says they went with a small tank and turned the spray off to save 80 euros per car.
The Forbes article makes no sense. First, the group that worked together was Peugeot, VW and Mercedes-Benz - not BMW. And the tanks are different sizes in the various vehicles.

Since DEF weighs ~9#/gallon, I don't think the 45 pounds, or .7% weight addition, will impact balance, performance or handling.

I still wonder why we have the 5K interval. Once the 100K us up, I'm going to plan to go to the 10K interval, if oil testing warrants it.

I can certainly feel the ~50lb difference between empty and full when I have to fill up the AdBlue. Being on the wrong side of the axle exacerbates the impact of the weight.

It may be subtle to most, but if you are in tune with how the vehicle handles in extreme (e.g. emergency or track situations) then you'll notice the difference.

In the Blackstone reports I've seen people post over the years, it seems like 7500 is about the area where the oil starts to break down. I too had also always intended to go to a 10k interval, but given what I've seen I'll probably just stay around 5k (though with less stress if I miss by a few hundred miles or so).

I went 7500 interval on the leased cayenne. since I own this one, and since I started doing it myself I go 5000 on the current one. I go to the dealership for the 20k/40k, etc.

I'm guessing there's still no real (or made up) news on the status of the fix for the 2.1's that's in the hands of the EPA right now?

My CD has used 2.5 gallons of AdBlue per 5k miles for six OCIs.
We had a tech talk last year by the guy who runs Evergreen Turbos and from what he sees M1 can't get beyond 5k miles before impacting turbo life. I'm fine with the 5k OCI.

Do any Canadians on this forum have any idea what's going with a Canadian settlement? Zero discussion of this issue on the Canada sub forum, and I've seen nothing in the press. Any ideas?

Default Class Bridge Warranty

Just got an email from VOA in regards to a Class Bridge Warranty for all Class 2 Diesels. Not sure what this is?

It didn't. My tests indicated about 7,500
Was the limit.
