If anyone is seriously interested in this car just let me know. I'm about 20 minutes from this dealer and can put eyes on it. (I don't know anything about the dealer FYI)

It looks to be modified as Joe pointed out but most of it looks cosmetic.

Any stories with this 29k mile .2 GT3 beyond the miles as it is sitting at $140k with a decent spec?

Nothing stands out to me immediately but I'd want some higher quality photos if you're buying sight unseen. Then get a quality PPI.

From what I can see in the pics, the center caps seem to be painted over or fading, looks like there is some rust/corrosion on the PCCB hardware. Paint could use a solid paint correction as well but I'd expect that.

I'd ask the shop to pay attention to that when they do the PPI. Make sure that everything in the front looks ok. Can always paint meter the rest of the car to be sure everything checks out, but I'd use that as a general guide. A damage report is typically less concerning. From my understanding and what I've seen, that is typically an insurance claim. So someone lightly tapped into something in their garage. An accident report would mean the police came out. Now granted, a damage report could have had an accident with multiple cars involved and for some reason the agency didn't report it, but that is why it is best to get a PPI and see what the car is like. Obviously you'll have to explain the damage report to the next person when you go to sell but I tend to think that matters less as time goes on and more cars have damage of some sort.

Assuming most things check out something you can use in your negotiation are the hubs and the wheels. I think its reasonable to want to re-powder the wheels back to stock since they are fairly expensive and hard to find. Your biggest risk is probably those disks... you need a closeup.

I can see the swirls even in these crappy photos, though that could be a good thing... if this was the first correction it's going to have in 30k miles at least you have a lot of clearcoat to work with.

Yes, ideally I'd want the PCCBs inspected with the Carboteq tool at a Porsche dealer. But that likely means two PPI's as I'd rather have an independent shop do the PPI and then have the PCCBs inspected at the dealer. Unless you can find a dealer that does a very thorough PPI. From my understanding some dealers do not even want to do PPI's anymore due to the liability.

Porsche PPI and CPO are really meaningless when it comes to certain dealers. When I put my Turbo S up for sale I had a couple local people interested and one was an unnamed Porsche dealer wanted to buy my heavenly modded Turbo S and said if I removed all the mods less turbos and if the DME was clean they would buy and sell it as CPO. It ended up as a private semi-local sale in its modded state.

I’d have to agree. My CPO 997.2 C2S was completely misrepresented by the salesperson, items that they said they did on the CPO checklist to bring the car up to date on maintenance were never done and when it was caught it was a fight with the service manager to get them covered at my local dealer. This was from a reputable dealer, one of the better ones in the country.

^^^^Other than the chrome rims, that is a sweet looking car. Looks very clean inside and out. New wheels could be sourced quite easily.

You wouldn’t even need new wheels, could just refinish them. The original finish would have been the standard silver with GT3 center caps instead of the Porsche crests.

I spoke to the dealer on this. Apparently their customer traded this in for an RS6 wagon. They described the minor incident to be a 5 mph scuff in a parking lot but the other person called the police to get a collision report. Buffed right out which the sales guy said was proven with a paint depth meter but he didn’t send me any pics of the measurements.

I believe them when they say they spared no expense, as proven by the $8,377 service bill at Porsche Austin. Clean DME too. Posted for your reading pleasure. Porsche measured the rotors and said they were in spec but replaced all 4 pads. I personally would change rotors and pads at the same time but that’s just me and I’ve also never owned PCCBs before so maybe that $10k bill would sway me as well, lol.

I would have probably gone for this except they weren’t interested in the logistical hassle of trading in my C4GTS from NJ. Oh well, wasn’t looking to go through the hassle of putting my car up for sale in a softening market and off-season for a vert. Hope someone from here picks it up. Lowest priced 997.2 GT3 in the country. The sales guy said only myself and a collector from Florida called in for this car.
