There was really nice silver 991.2 RS for sale on the forum. Listed for 155 with lots of nice mods etc.... I was seriously considering it and I'm way to poor to own one but the temptation/desire is real or almost out weighed my common sense, it could eventually get the better of me hehe

That's sometimes a struggle for me as well. I've instructed in several 991 GT3's and GT3RS's and, man, those are NICE cars and SO fast! Plus they're all pretty inside with really cool bells and whistles. But every time, once I let the stars leave my eyes, I know I'd miss my old, slow 997 GT3.

Now at $76k.

Whenever I see aftermarket tail lights I run... Seeing the carfax, what a tough life this car has had...

Well...that, and the 4.0 500hp offered in the newer GT3 is really compelling.
Yep this. The 4.0 motor can't be denied. Ideally I'd have both and a 993TT on top of that. So many cars, so little time to enjoy them.

The whole shock tower situation is what would keep me away from a 991.

Isn't that overblown? I havent heard of many 991 cars having this issue, more 981s.

Possibly, but I know personally of a car that hit a pothole and had it happen. The roads in norcal are pretty horrible at times. The worst being in the rain where the pothole is filled with water and you can't see it at night.

But I think people entering the market are comparing them. Buddy of mine is looking to get is first big car and has been cross shopping everything from 718 GT4s, 7.1 and 7.2 GT3s, 991 GTSs and so on. It's a bit maddening, trying to focus that kind of buyer. Some people just want something cool are easily wooed by the YouTube pundits. Hard to blame them.
i enter market looking for 997.2RS after sell of my 11 gt3 narrow body and almost bought 997.2 RS and end up/paid more and bought 991.1RS and couldn't be happier.

I think the second time GT buyer who has passion for the cars (follows forums, has a friend or knows someone with an older generation car generally finds out what they are missing and buys an earlier gen 997 car). Some sell the 991 and some keep them. But I think Doug means a certain percentage of new buyers will consider both cars initially.
I’m in the considering both camp. Wanted a used 997.2 way back when, but 991.1 PDK only release, plus a good economy, drove prices up and I’m a cheap bastard sometimes. I know it’s bad to postpone pure joy, but I can be too frugal at times so I waited. Then the 991.2 ADM thing happened and soured me. Now the 997.2 prices are coming back to what I consider reasonable levels so I’m on the hunt. But I must say that 4.0 does seem tempting if my thriftiness stays out of the way.

I don't know if its the lighting or what, but the dash and door panels don't look anything like mine. Is that the difference between the full leather option and not? I understand the deviated stitching option.

Also looks like a set of SharkWerks tips on the exhaust.

Clean carfax on this one according to the add so it isn't the AQM that was crashed and rebuilt.

unless you have a similarly storied car, I wouldn’t use that car as a reference because of all the accidents it has, the probably 0 records of repairs available and this being a generic dealer.

spot on ! The more you learn to play an instrument the more you regress into what makes you say you’re a good musician vs a good systems manager. But the number of good musicians is small and shrinking as new musicians only train on digital instruments.
