The 997 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...
A premium should be paid for a guards red car with so few made. This one looks to be incredibly clean also. So in theory this car probably should have brought $160k. But right people not in the room and at $160k, for a car to put lots of miles on and drive, it may be a bit much for some people. Lots of other great cars out there too that some may consider at that price point. Hope that Doug is able to make a deal offline on this one and see it go to a good home.

To add to Joe's post above, there's a bit of inventory out there at this price point though Doug's guards is really nice. The only personal critique it has a bit too much red accents in the interior (though somewhat of an easy remedy).

I’m actually one of the enthusiasts that love red interior accents. Yes, this car should have hit above $155-160k. I think Sunday played a big part of not reaching reserve.

Lots of GT's on the market right now. I think owners are trying to extract top dollar before the market dips, which I think it already has. IMO, it appears that sellers are a a bit late to the ask anything you want for your car.

I don’t think prices are gong too stabilize. I think they’re going to fall from the sky. 3 more months they’d wish they they could get 140k for it.

I was checking out the story behind the '07 black GT3 they have on their site...apparently in mid auction on BaT the car was hit by an uninsured motorist. That sucks.

It was a shame what happened to that black .1 as it was a clean low mileage example. I noticed not long after the auction/accident the seller raised the price $25k. It was $160k right before the auction/accident and $185k after. Estimated the damage would cost $20k+ to repair and the seller seemed to have added the repair costs onto the asking price as they were not motivated to sell and take a loss? The seller bought it for $140k from a Bay Area dealer and is still trying to flip it.

Seems kind of a weird move if true.

I don't think we know what it cost to repair. It looked minor from one angle, then less than minor from another. What really sucks was he was trying to get somebody a picture of the underbelly or something like that. Probably the demand of a dude that was either not bidding at all, or put in an early bid that never mattered anyway. I saw that on another GT3 auction where this guy asked for all kinds of crap, but after he asked if it had the factory luggage I knew he was a douche.
8k-mile Grey Black .2 RS w/the rare factory graphics delete option. PCCB, FAL, clean DME, and doesn’t appear to have any paintwork (scratch noted on the hood). Worth noting that this car should have sport buckets, but someone looks to have replaced them with standard sport seats. Also noticed that numerous pictures are used from a previous ad nearly 1k miles ago.

I think it hit what it was going to hit and the market tanking is not going to be friendly to what used to be depreciating assets. Everyone has an excuse these days for these lower prices, it’s the economy!!
Feel like it’s a safe assumption all my sports cars are about to take an absolute bath on values with this market deteriorating very quickly the collectibles included

Values have been going down since February… just hard to tell because the number is staying the same. However I’m not worried about the 997 GT market, at least 80%< pay cash and there are usually plenty of things in the garage that would go first. Those that want to sell were going to sell anyway and those don’t watched their RS double in 12 months and are still driving them.
