Changing rotors and pads at the same time is not feasible on a PCCB or any ceramic brake equipped car. PCCB's would be $20k just for the rotors. C6 ZR1 ceramic rotors are less expensive, but still something like $2k per rotor.
The Asset Seller pulled the rug out from under us at the 11th hour for the grey car as we tried to wire for the mutually agreed upon deal and they sold to the dealer instead...
FYI just so future buyers are aware, the prices paid by the dealer to acquire these cars are as such.
I spoke to the dealer on this. Apparently their customer traded this in for an RS6 wagon. They described the minor incident to be a 5 mph scuff in a parking lot but the other person called the police to get a collision report. Buffed right out which the sales guy said was proven with a paint depth meter but he didn’t send me any pics of the measurements.
I believe them when they say they spared no expense, as proven by the $8,377 service bill at Porsche Austin. Clean DME too. Posted for your reading pleasure. Porsche measured the rotors and said they were in spec but replaced all 4 pads. I personally would change rotors and pads at the same time but that’s just me and I’ve also never owned PCCBs before so maybe that $10k bill would sway me as well, lol.
I would have probably gone for this except they weren’t interested in the logistical hassle of trading in my C4GTS from NJ. Oh well, wasn’t looking to go through the hassle of putting my car up for sale in a softening market and off-season for a vert. Hope someone from here picks it up. Lowest priced 997.2 GT3 in the country. The sales guy said only myself and a collector from Florida called in for this car.
Thanks for the info! looks like a solid driver sample
Hi All
Wasn’t sure how to post to classified as it wasn’t letting me but wanting to sell my 997.1 GT3. Track ready. Mods: GMG exhaust, GMG cage, JRZ suspension, 996 buckets, fresh Michelin Cup 2s, cup lip and welded lines. Please inquire.
Can one of you smart people look at PICTURE 28 on the dealer site above and tell me what those semi-oval carpet "cuts"/patches are for on the top shelf ? Are those always there or is that evidence of a roll bar? Sorry I am just not familiar enough with that to know better. Thanks in advance

Patches are not usual but also not a mounting point for a roll bar.
Wait, wait, wait, wait. The DeMan kit is $30k all-in for the engine mods/tuning & gear set? That's the bargain of the century. Makes the GT4 much more appealing.
Definitely not. I went through these options with my 987 4.2, and then again with my GT4. 30k is the very base for the motor. No X51, gearing, diff, tuning, exhaust, suspension bits, logistics, etc. From experience, you're much closer to 50 all in.

I can’t tell you what they’re for but every 997 GT3 has that. No issue.
Also, there are guys that install a roll bar and don’t track. They want it to give the car a certain look. So I wouldn’t disqualify a car based on a roll bar or history of one. More research is almost always needed. Not saying you are disqualifying a car, just figured I’d mention.

Really? 997 RS's don't have the cut out (at least I don't think so???). What is it for?

My understanding is that .1 GT3s (not sure about .2 GT3s) have all of the rear seat attachment points (even though they do not have rear seats). I used these cutouts in a 997 C4 with child seats installed.
Ok, so it looks like all .1 and .2 GT3's had it while no RS' had it, including 4.0. My bad. Still don't know what it is for.
haha, yea I just did the same thing, pouring over BaT pics of the back parcel shelf from both RS, non-RS, Gen 1 & Gen 2. I can also confirm what you saw.
I even went back through several Drola's Garage video's, but he never pulled that top shelf carpet off, so I couldn't see what is underneath in those two rear spots.
It is weird that none of the RS came with those two carpet perforations on each side,... when it would make more sense for the RS if it was for a Club Sport Cage mount spot, or even the Moton suspension lines, etc.
