wow, although neither is within my budget, I think the GRP one is better conditioned for a lot less $$,

If it were my money, I’d buy from Mike, not the Rahal car, and Mr. Adair is open to offers as well..

40k-mile Carrara White .2 GT3. Steel brakes, FAL, and DEM. Priced at $170k. The ask for this particular example seems optimistic.

2007 GT3 will be coming to Porsche Arlington soon. My guess is that it is VIN WP0AC29927S792420 which was last sold by Switchcars with 31,829 miles in February 2021. https://www.switchcars.com/cars-for-...orsche-911-gt3

Rahal car has twice the miles. And plenty of track use. My car has no track use. Rahal has already tried to sell the car to Doug.

Christian did say that he was considering the switch, in that other thread "What would you replace our 997 GT3 with" (post #2)

He probably still has that winter set of 19" rims / tires for sale too: https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1277417

EDIT: Ooops, looks like those rims have offset from his prior 991 C4 that he sold back in Feb '21. Probably not the same offsets as our 997 GT3's

Default 997.2 Turbo/Turbo S

Thought I would take a shot with this group considering you guys seem really informed on the GT3. The parabolic rise of the GT3 pricing has me looking at the Turbo and Turbo S. Can you guys point me towards a thread that lists must have options, things to be aware of or insight on the model. Or, share here? I've used the search feature and come up blank. Thanks!

997.2 Turbo Problems? There really aren't any provided that PDK does not explode. Engines are solid. No coolant line issues or spun camshaft issues. Engine can still grenade like any car, but that is not a common thing on the 997.2 Turbo (also not common the 997.1 Turbo). Must have options, if you go for a Turbo S, you're getting PCCB's standard, so that's a benefit provided that they're in good condition. A dealer should carry the Carboteq tool to measure the condition of the rotor. I personally think either the 2 way sport seat plus or the 18 way sport seat plus are a must on those cars. I'm not a fan of the comfort seats on those cars. I've put plenty of miles in the 997 comfort seats and having the sport seats plus are a must for me now. If you found the right car, you likely could retrofit at least the less complex 2 way sport seat plus into them, or buckets, if you fit. The 997 bucket seats do sit considerably higher than the 997 sport seat plus, so for someone tall like me they do not work. The 997.2 Turbo sport chrono package includes dynamic engine mounts. Turbo S comes with sport chrono standard. PTV (Porsche Torque Vectoring) is another option you may want. Turbo S comes with it standard. Carbon fiber interior will crack like it does on all 997s.

Indeed - my meteor 997 is now at Porsche Arlington, in the same shape Doug delivered it last January, with new MPS4S tires and an intermediate service from Porsche Pittsburgh (and <2K additional miles this year).

And yes, I still have the 19" Carrera wheels. I meant to try them on the GT3, as online offset calculators said the rears would only protrude an extra 2mm, but I never got around to it. I'd very much like to get them out of my garage.

Good to see you back here Mr Adiar!

I too agree about working with Doug, I was very pleased with how it all went down when I bought the "lesser" RS that Mike owned. Of course I did not want a garage queen, I enjoy driving my cars and my blue one is in great shape even though it has 19K miles on it.
