Holy SHIZZle Blue Batman .... someone needs to jump on that Cobalt ASAP. At 22k miles, and with that spec, that thing is goooorgeous.
and the spec is awesome too. Just the right amount of boxes checked imo.
{< coming from the blueman club, I love seeing cars like that come up for sale. Reminds me of the MANY long months .. into years,... that I looked for my .2 aqua>}

I looked at the seller and EBay has him at 100% positive feedback. The car could have recently moved from Florida to NJ. Where is the shadiness? Can you elaborate?

You have to look at the feedback in detail. There is a trick a lot of shady sellers use to improve their feedback. They make a lot of small BS purchases so that they get a lot of positive feedback as BUYERS. This feedback is averaged in with their feedback as SELLERS where they get negative ratings. So, they screw people on 4 cars, but buy 196 trinkets for 99 cents each and pay right away, and now they average a 98% positive review rating. You have to click on "view feedback as seller", which is where you will see how they really rank.

Thanks for the explanation but all I see is one negative transaction and there is always another side of a story. Why would someone don’t actually sell the car after the auction ended?

lots of dealers put cars up at no reserve to get them noticed and then cancel the auction… I’ve won 2 GT3’s on eBay where they didn’t honor the sale. I don’t see it as an issue for the specific car so much as a jerk dealer. eBay is a waste of time… at least BAT/Pcar charge $5k to back out.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying this seller is in fact a scammer, just saying the ad looked shady based on pics, location discrepancy, and feedback.
As to why someone would do this, 1) they can gauge the market price with no ultimate obligation to sell, 2) they list with no reserve and then haggle with the top bidder after the auction with no obligation to sell if they don't get their price, or 3) they are outright frauds who try to get some small deposit out of the buyer and then disappear.

There is a dealer who is very well known to everyone in this thread who used to do this on eBay for reasons 1 and 2 listed above. Every few months he would get a new ebay account to reset all the negative reviews. It was so silly because you could trace the VINs right back to his website. This was back in 2017-2018.

Why is this still sitting at the Toy Barn?

Puzzled here too. I had not seen that one before. Sure looks nice in terms of a basically one owner for the last 14 years and appears very clean though the somewhat darkish interior pics don't show that part too well. No blips on the VIN search or carfax. Of course, a paint meter and rev report would be needed to get a better idea. Perhaps others on here will know more.

This is the car that was purchased along with a white 997.2 GT3 from the same seller out of CA. A few members here were trying to buy the .2 but seller ended up selling both cars to Toy Barn instead. Not sure as to why the .1 remains unsold. They dropped the price by $10k already.

@8Lug is correct. .2 was sold when I got in contact. I went and looked at the .1 before he was to list it online. Was hoping to acquire it for a good friend/ active member here. Seller wouldn’t wait a day for the wire and the dealers are quick at wiring so they got it in the end.

I have photos of the gray .1 ToyBarn has before it left California if anyone wants them.
I would prefer not to post them in this thread for privacy reasons out of respect for the original owner.

It’s a very very clean car. But the front bumper will definitely need repair and repaint. Whoever installed the mesh grills did not do a great job. Basically self tapping screws visible into the bumper.

I am in Columbus and went to look at them when they were originally posted on this thread. I got to Toy Barn before they actually had arrived from California so I never saw either one. I'm not in the market but I assumed it sold a long time ago. The price doesn't seem outrageous in todays market.

AVOID!!

Buddy of mine picked up this car in the summer and it was a basket case. Way too many issues to even begin listing them. The dealer ended up refunding him every last penny.

AVOID!!
Price increase from $219k to $333k. Must be a typo or they are out of their minds!!!
